Quick answer

In the DoorDash app (or at doordash.com), open AccountManage DashPassCancel Membership, pick a reason, then tap Submit and Cancel (skip the red Keep / Stay buttons). Cancel at least 24 hours before your next charge. Paid members keep benefits until the period ends; free-trial cancels end benefits immediately. DoorDash does not refund partial periods.

DoorDash DashPass was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open your DoorDash Account

Open the DoorDash app or sign in at doordash.com and tap the account icon. You should see a DashPass row near the top of the Account menu — active members usually see Manage DashPass here.

2

Open Manage DashPass

Tap Manage DashPass. You'll see your status, next charge date, payment method, and a list that includes Change Payment Method, Cancel Membership, and Billing History.

3

Tap Cancel Membership

Tap Cancel Membership on the Manage DashPass page. DoorDash's help center also documents Pause Membership on this screen — Pause is not a cancel; if you want the bill to stop permanently, stay on the Cancel path.

4

Skip the Keep Trial screen

If you're on a free trial, DoorDash shows how many days you have left and warns that canceling ends benefits immediately. The big red button says Keep DashPass Trial — tap the smaller Continue to Cancel link underneath instead. Paid members may skip straight to the reason survey.

5

Pick a cancellation reason

DoorDash asks you to Share your reason for canceling DashPass with six radio options (too expensive, benefits aren't appealing, Other, and more). Select any reason — including Other — then tap Select Reason. The button stays disabled until a reason is chosen.

6

Tap Submit and Cancel

Next you get an optional free-text box (Share your reason for canceling — up to 200 characters). You can leave it blank. Ignore the large red Stay with DashPass button and tap the Submit and Cancel text link below it to finish.

7

Verify the confirmation

You should see We're sorry to see you go with a Got It button. That's your confirmation — DoorDash also emails you. Paid members keep DashPass benefits through the end of the current billing period; trial cancels already ended benefits on the previous screen.

Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal

DoorDash's policy is that you must cancel 24 hours before your next scheduled payment to avoid the next charge. If you are inside that window and still get billed, contact chat or call 855-431-0459 and ask them to reverse the renewal.

Pause Membership is not a cancel

Manage DashPass may also offer Pause Membership → Pause DashPass. Pause stops the membership temporarily; DoorDash's help page does not publish how long a pause lasts or whether billing resumes automatically. If you want to stop paying for good, use Cancel Membership instead of Pause.

Chase (or other) free DashPass benefits

If DashPass is free through Chase Sapphire Reserve/Preferred, Freedom, Slate, or a Chase co-brand card, your benefit lives on that card partnership — not a separate $9.99 subscription you "forget" about. Co-brand and Freedom/Slate free periods auto-enroll into the then-current full monthly rate when the promo ends. Cancel or let the Chase benefit expire intentionally if you do not want the paid conversion, and keep the eligible Chase card as your default payment method while the free benefit is active.

If you signed up through Apple or Google

Most DashPass memberships bill a card saved in DoorDash, but if your bank statement shows an App Store or Google Play charge, cancel there instead: iPhone — Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions; Google — play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. DoorDash's Cancel Membership row will not control a store-billed subscription.

Frequently Asked Questions

No further renewals should post once the cancellation is confirmed — as long as you canceled at least 24 hours before the next scheduled payment. Paid members keep $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders through the end of the current billing period. Free-trial members lose benefits the moment they confirm cancel. Uninstalling the app does not stop billing.

DoorDash does not offer prorated refunds on DashPass. After a paid cancel you keep benefits until the period ends — that is the policy equivalent of a refund, not cash back. EU and UK users may have a 14-day right of withdrawal on a new subscription under consumer law. If you were charged inside the 24-hour window, accidentally switched to the $96 annual plan, or see a DashPass charge with no account, contact DoorDash chat or 855-431-0459 and ask for a goodwill refund; banks can dispute unrecognized DoorDash DashPass charges as a last resort.

Only the DashPass membership ends. Your DoorDash login, saved addresses, payment methods, order history, gift cards, and credits stay on the account. On the end date you lose member perks ($0 delivery fee and reduced service fees on eligible DashPass orders) and pay standard fees again. You can resubscribe later from Manage DashPass.

Cancel through whichever store bills you. iPhone: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > DoorDash / DashPass > Cancel Subscription. Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. If Manage DashPass still shows Cancel Membership and your statement says DoorDash (not Apple/Google), use the in-app or web flow instead — that means DoorDash is billing your card directly.

Yes — and you should if you do not want the first paid charge. The path is the same: Account → Manage DashPass → Cancel Membership. Trial cancellations terminate benefits immediately; there is no grace period through the trial end date. If you want every free day, cancel on the last day (still at least 24 hours before the first paid charge).

Yes. Open Manage DashPass (or the Get DashPass / Get $0 delivery fees entry) any time and subscribe again at the current monthly ($9.99) or annual ($96/year) rate. Your account history is still there. Returning members are usually not offered a second free trial — DoorDash's help article limits trials to users who have not previously tried DashPass. Watch for post-cancel renew promos; they are optional retention offers, not required to keep your account.
