Open Account Settings in the web app

Sign in at app.fireflies.ai, click Settings in the left sidebar, then choose Account Settings. Under "Manage Subscription" you'll see your current plan (Pro or Business) and a Cancel subscription button.

Click Cancel subscription

Click the Cancel subscription button under Manage Subscription. If you also have the AskFred & AI Credits add-on, note that canceling the main plan cancels the add-on too.

Skip the "Downgrade to Pro" offer

A "Keep transcribing your meetings?" modal appears pushing you to downgrade to the Pro plan instead. Ignore the purple Downgrade to Pro button and click the small "I want to cancel subscription" link underneath it.

Pick a cancellation reason

The "Before you cancel, please help us improve" screen asks "What went wrong?" Choose a reason from the dropdown (for example "No longer needed") and optionally type a note. The Continue button stays greyed out until you select a reason.

Click Continue

Once a reason is selected, the Continue button turns purple. Click it to move past the survey. Clicking Keep subscription here cancels the whole flow and leaves your plan active.

Get past the AskFred chat

Fireflies' AI assistant ("AskFred") opens a chat trying to talk you out of leaving and asks what you used Fireflies for. You don't have to reply — click Proceed With Cancellation in the bottom right to keep going.

Decline the 40%-off offer

A final "Unlock what you've been missing" card dangles a 40% discount (shown as $34.20/mo struck against $87/mo) plus star testimonials. To keep canceling, ignore Claim 40% off and Keep Current Plan and click the "Continue to cancel" link at the bottom.

Confirm the cancellation

The "Cancel team subscription" screen warns that current meetings stay accessible but you'll lose the ability to transcribe future meetings, and all add-ons are cancelled too. Click Cancel team subscription (or Cancel subscription on an individual plan) to finish.

Verify the cancellation and end date

A confirmation reads "Your subscription for Business plan has been canceled" and names the exact date your account drops to Free (the end of your current billing cycle). Click Got it. Back in Account Settings, your plan now shows a CANCELED badge alongside a Keep subscription button if you change your mind.

Double-check the CANCELED badge

In Account Settings, Manage Subscription should now display BUSINESS with a CANCELED badge and a note that you'll move to Free when the billing cycle ends. If it still shows an active plan with no badge, the cancellation didn't complete — repeat the flow.

Cancel the AI Credits add-on separately if you keep your plan

If you're only dropping the AskFred & AI Credits add-on but keeping your subscription, use the separate Cancel subscription button in the ADD-ON section of Account Settings instead. Note that AI Credits are non-refundable, so any unused credits are lost.

Request a refund within the 7-day window if eligible

Fireflies offers a full refund only if you've used it for 7 days or less and logged 20 meetings or fewer. There are no refunds beyond that and no pro-rating on annual plans. If you qualify, email support@fireflies.ai to request it — refunds take 5–10 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you confirm the cancellation, Fireflies won't renew your plan. You keep all paid features until the end of your current billing period, then the account automatically drops to the Free plan. Check your next statement to be sure the renewal stopped, and confirm the CANCELED badge appears in Account Settings.

Only in a narrow window. Fireflies gives a full refund if you've used the product for 7 days or less and logged 20 meetings or fewer. Outside that, subscriptions are non-refundable and annual plans are not pro-rated, so you keep access until the paid period ends but get no money back for the remaining months. AI Credits add-ons are never refundable. To request an eligible refund, contact support@fireflies.ai — it takes 5–10 business days.

Your existing meetings, transcripts, summaries, and recordings are not deleted. They stay in your Fireflies Notebook, but once you drop to the Free plan your access to them is governed by Free-tier limits (for example reduced storage). Canceling is not the same as deleting your account — the separate "Delete my account" action permanently erases all your data.

The add-on has its own Cancel subscription button in the ADD-ON section of Account Settings, so you can drop it without canceling your whole plan. Canceling your main subscription also cancels every add-on automatically. Either way, AI Credits are non-refundable, so unused credits don't carry over or get reimbursed.

Yes. Fireflies offers a 7-day free trial of Business-plan features. If you cancel during the trial, your trial ends immediately and the account switches to the Free plan right away — it is not extended to the original trial end date. To use the full trial, wait until the last day before canceling.

Yes. After you cancel, Account Settings shows a Keep subscription button next to the CANCELED badge — clicking it reverses the cancellation before your billing cycle ends and keeps you on your current plan. If the cycle has already ended and you've moved to Free, you can re-upgrade at any time from the Upgrade page; your stored meetings come back under the paid limits.
