Quick answer

Open Settings (⚙️) in Gamma's left sidebar, click Billing, then Cancel subscription at the bottom. Click through the downsell offer, the feedback survey, and the "Just making sure" screen, then hit Confirm & cancel. You keep your paid plan until the end of the current billing period, then the workspace drops to Free. Cancelling does not trigger a refund — Gamma only refunds within 3 days of subscribing, and only if you ask support.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Settings and go to the Billing tab

In the Gamma web app, click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar (on mobile, tap the three-line menu ☰ first), then open the Billing tab. You'll land on the "Billing and subscription" page showing your current plan and renewal date. Scroll to the bottom and click the "Cancel subscription" link under "Manage subscription."

2

Decline the "Consider other plans" downsell

Gamma first tries to keep you with a cheaper plan — a "We'd hate to see you go!" pop-up offering to switch you to the Plus plan at a lower price. To keep cancelling, click "Decline offer." (Choosing "Switch plan" downgrades you instead of cancelling.)

3

Pick a reason for leaving

Next is a "We're sorry Gamma isn't working for you" survey asking why you're leaving — options like "Missing features," "It's too expensive," "Prefer another tool," or "Free plan good enough." Select one and click Next. This is purely feedback; any choice lets you continue.

Add feedback (optional) and continue

Gamma then asks "What could we have done better?" with a free-text box. You can type a note or leave it blank — either way, click Next to proceed.

5

Confirm the cancellation

A "Just making sure" screen spells out what happens once your plan expires: exports get the "Made with Gamma" badge, unused credits expire, and AI usage becomes limited. Click "Confirm & cancel" to finish.

6

Check the cancellation confirmation

You'll see a "Subscription cancelled — You won't be billed again" message. Click "Back to Gamma" to return to the app.

Verify the expiry date on the Billing page

Back on the Billing page, your subscription now reads "expires on [date]" instead of "renews on [date]," and a red banner warns that your credits expire on that date. A "Reactivate subscription" link appears if you change your mind. You keep full paid access until that date.

Request a refund within 3 days (only if eligible)

Cancelling does not refund you. If you subscribed within the last 3 days and haven't burned through your plan's credit threshold, contact Gamma support (available 24/7) and ask them to check your refund eligibility. After 3 days, no refund is issued except where local law requires it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Your paid plan stays active until the end of the current billing period — the Billing page shows the exact expiry date. After that, your workspace automatically drops to the Free plan. You keep all your content (gammas, docs, sites), but paid-only features are disabled and exports get the "Made with Gamma" badge again. Any unused credits expire on the end date.

No, not automatically. As of December 1, 2025, Gamma only refunds within the first 3 days of subscribing, for both monthly and annual plans, and only if you contact Customer Support to request it — and only if you haven't exceeded your plan's credit-usage threshold (for example, under 200 credits used on Plus, under 600 on Pro). After 3 days, no refund is issued unless local consumer-protection law requires one.

Cancel before your renewal date. Gamma recommends cancelling at least 30 days before your plan's renewal date to be safe, and if you got an auto-renewal notification, you have 30 days from that notice to cancel. As long as you cancel before the term ends, you won't be billed for the next period — you just keep access until the current one runs out.

You're probably not the billing admin for that workspace. Only the workspace billing admin can cancel the subscription, so you'll need to ask whoever set up billing. If you don't see a Billing tab at all (just an "upgrade your workspace" banner), you're on the Free plan — or you're signed into a different workspace than the paid one. Click your initials in the bottom-left to switch workspaces, or log out and back in with the email you originally subscribed with.

No. Gamma does not currently offer a pause or hold option. If you don't need it right now, you have to cancel and then resubscribe later when you're ready. Your content stays in your account on the Free plan in the meantime.

Yes, as long as your billing period hasn't ended. After cancelling, the Billing page shows a "Reactivate subscription" link. Click it before the expiry date and your plan continues as normal. If the period has already lapsed and you've dropped to Free, you can simply subscribe again.
