Open Settings and tap Manage subscription

In the Headway app, tap the Profile tab in the bottom-right corner, then open Settings. Scroll down past Privacy Policy and Subscription Terms and tap "Manage subscription."

Tap Cancel subscription

The Manage subscription screen shows your email, subscription status ("Active"), and the date it's active till. Tap the red "Cancel subscription" button.

Pick a reason and tap Continue canceling

Headway asks "What is the main reason you canceled your subscription?" with options from "Too expensive" to "I expected full books, not summaries." Pick any one — your choice doesn't change the process — then tap "Continue canceling."

Dismiss the Contact support pop-up

A "Thank you for sharing" pop-up offers to fix your issue via support. The bright blue "Contact support" button is the primary one; tap the plain "No, thanks" button underneath to keep canceling.

Turn down the discount offer

Next comes a save offer — in this flow, "How about a special offer we have for you?" at 50% off. "Change My Plan" accepts the offer and keeps you subscribed; tap "Cancel subscription" below it to continue.

Finish in Apple's subscription screen

Because app purchases are billed by the App Store, Headway hands you to Apple's native "Edit Subscription" sheet. Tap "Cancel Subscription" (it reads "Cancel Free Trial" if you're still in the trial).

Tap Confirm

Apple shows "Confirm Cancellation" with the date your service ends. Tap "Confirm" — not "Not Now." This is the step that actually cancels the subscription.

Verify the status shows Canceled

Back in Headway, open Settings > Manage subscription again. The status should now read "Canceled" in red, with the date your access ends. You keep full Premium access until then.

Google handles the billing, so cancel in the Play Store: open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then "Payments and subscriptions" > "Subscriptions," select Headway, and tap Cancel. The in-app flow on Android hands you to this same screen.

Web purchases (card or PayPal via the makeheadway.com quiz funnel) don't appear in Apple or Google settings. Sign in to the Headway account page linked from their cancellation help article — use the same password as the app — and click "Cancel Subscription," or email support@get-headway.com. The 24-hour rule applies here too.

Cancel inside that final 24-hour window and the next charge usually still goes through. You keep full Premium access until the end of the period you've paid for. If you bought through Headway's website, also check your statement for separate add-on subscriptions (such as infographics packs) picked up during checkout — those bill independently and need their own cancellation.

It depends on where you subscribed. App Store purchases: request a refund from Apple at support.apple.com/apps (Apple decides, and users report trial-end charges being ruled "not eligible"). Google Play purchases: request through Google's refund page. Website purchases: refunds are at Headway's discretion — their policy says a refund is provided "if we find the request acceptable."
