Quick answer

Cancel where you bought it. If you subscribed on the website, open your profile page and click Cancel subscription, click past the 50% off save offer by choosing Continue to cancel, pick a reason, then click Cancel my subscription. If the App Store bills you, cancel in your phone's Subscriptions settings instead. Open keeps your access until the end of the current period — there is no "cancel now" and monthly charges are not refunded.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Confirm where you subscribed to Open

Open is the breathwork, movement, meditation, and sound studio app at o-p-e-n.com (formerly withopen.com). How you cancel the Digital Membership depends on who bills you: cancel on the Open website if you subscribed there, or in your phone's Subscriptions settings if you signed up through the Apple App Store. Canceling on the wrong platform will not stop the charge.

2

Open your Digital Membership page and click Cancel subscription

On the website, go to your profile page. Under DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP you will see your Status, Next billing date, and Payment method. Click the black Cancel subscription button. If you are still on the free trial, the Status reads "Free Trial" with a banner like "Your trial ends in 3 days" — the Cancel subscription button works during the trial too.

Open account page showing a DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP section with Status "Free Trial", Next billing date Sep 1 2025, Payment Visa ...9209, a note "Your trial ends in 3 days on Sep 1, 2025." and a black "Cancel subscription" button
3

Skip the 50% off save offer — click Continue to cancel

Open interrupts the cancel with a "50% off — Recommit to you. Cancel anytime." one-time offer: a "3 Months $10/mo" plan (struck through from $12.50). The fine print says you would be billed $10/mo for 3 months, after which your subscription reverts to the standard $20/mo. To keep canceling, ignore the big "Claim now" button and click the plain "Continue to cancel" text beneath it.

Open save-offer modal headlined "50% off / Recommit to you. Cancel anytime." with a ONE-TIME OFFER badge, a "3 Months" card showing $12.50 struck through to $10/mo, fine print that the subscription reverts to $20/mo after 3 months, a cream "Claim now" button, and a "Continue to cancel" link below it
4

Pick a cancellation reason

Open asks "Why do you want to cancel your subscription? Select at least one to continue." Tick at least one box — options include "I don't have time to take classes.", "The subscription is too expensive.", "The content is not interesting to me.", "There are too many bugs and issues with the platform.", "I prefer other mindfulness apps or services.", and "Other". You cannot continue until one is selected.

Open cancellation reason survey titled "Why do you want to cancel your subscription? Select at least one to continue." with checkboxes for time, price, content, bugs, preferring other apps, and Other, plus an optional comment box and a "Cancel my subscription" button
5

Submit the survey and an optional comment

Selecting a reason (here "The subscription is too expensive.") enables the flow. The free-text "Please share any other thoughts or comments that could help us improve" box is optional — you can leave it blank or type a note. None of this changes the outcome; it is only feedback.

Open reason survey with "The subscription is too expensive." checkbox ticked and the other options unchecked
6

Click Cancel my subscription

Click the Cancel my subscription button at the bottom of the survey to finish. The optional comment box can hold any feedback (for example, "could be cheaper!") but is not required.

7

Confirm the unsubscribe message appears

A confirmation banner appears: "You've successfully unsubscribed. Your subscription will automatically cancel at the end of your billing period." That is your proof the cancellation registered. You are not billed again, but you keep access until the period ends.

Open confirmation toast reading "You've successfully unsubscribed. Your subscription will automatically cancel at the end of your billing period."

Verify the Status now reads "Canceling"

Back on your profile page, the DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP Status should now show "Canceling" (in red) with a message like "Your subscription has been canceled. You will have access to the platform until Sep 1, 2025." If it still shows an active status, the cancellation did not save — repeat the steps.

Open account page after cancel: DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP Status shows "Canceling" in red, Next billing date Sep 1 2025, and a message "Your subscription has been canceled. You will have access to the platform until Sep 1, 2025."

Cancel during the free trial to avoid the first charge

New members get 7 to 14 days of complimentary digital classes (the length depends on the plan you chose). While the Status reads "Free Trial", click Cancel subscription and run through the same steps — you will not be charged the first $20 (or $150), and you keep access until the trial-end date shown.

If the Apple App Store bills you, cancel there

If you subscribed through the iOS app, the easiest cancel is in your phone: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Open, then Cancel Subscription. Open's own profile page cannot stop a subscription that Apple is billing. You can also cancel in the Open app: profile icon (bottom right) → the three dots → Manage Subscription → the cancel button.

Request an annual refund within 30 days (monthly is not refundable)

Canceling does not refund the current period. For an annual subscription, email support@o-p-e-n.com immediately to be considered for a refund — Open cannot process refund requests made more than 30 days after the charge. Monthly subscriptions are not refunded for the current cycle. Either way you keep access until the last day of your billing cycle.

In-person studio credits are separate (and non-refundable)

If you bought in-person class credits or a 30-day credit membership at the Venice studio, that is a different product from the Digital Membership and is canceled/managed separately — email venice@o-p-e-n.com. Single credits, credit packs, and membership packages are non-refundable. To stop a recurring credit membership, cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once Open shows "You've successfully unsubscribed" and your Status reads "Canceling", the subscription will not renew. You keep access to the platform until the end of your current billing period (the date shown on your profile), then you drop to the free version. Make sure you canceled on the platform that bills you — the Open website if you subscribed there, or the Apple App Store if you signed up on iOS — and watch your statement to confirm no further charge.

It depends on the plan. For an annual subscription, email support@o-p-e-n.com immediately — Open may issue a refund but cannot process requests made more than 30 days after the charge. For a monthly subscription, canceling does not refund the current cycle at all. Open has no "cancel now" feature, so in both cases your access simply runs to the last day of the billing period. In-person class credits and credit packs are final sale and non-refundable.

Your account stays. Canceling just stops the renewal — you keep the full Digital Membership (unlimited on-demand classes and workshops) until the end of the paid period, then revert to Open's free version. Your account, history, and saved practices are not deleted, so if you resubscribe later everything is still there. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription; you have to cancel through the billing platform first.

Cancel in Apple's settings, not on the Open website. On your iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Open → Cancel Subscription. You can also cancel inside the Open app: tap your profile icon (bottom right), tap the three dots for account settings, tap Manage Subscription, then tap the cancel button. Canceling on the Open website will not stop a subscription that Apple is billing.

Yes. New members get 7 to 14 days of complimentary digital classes depending on the plan, and the Cancel subscription button works while the Status reads "Free Trial". Cancel before the trial-end date shown on your profile and you will not be charged the first $20 (monthly) or $150 (annual). You keep access until the trial ends. Because Open has no "cancel now", canceling during the trial still leaves your access on until that date — it just prevents the charge.

The Open Digital Membership is $20/month or $150/year (about $12.50/month billed annually), and it auto-renews until you cancel. The "50% off — $10/mo for 3 months" prompt you see when canceling is a one-time retention offer, not the standard price — it reverts to $20/month afterward. You can resubscribe at any time from your profile or the app; your account and history are preserved, so you pick up where you left off.
