A 11-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.
Sign in to account.apple.com/account/manage/section/subscriptions (works from any browser), open your Apple Music subscription, then click Cancel Subscription. On iPhone, use Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Apple Music > Cancel Subscription instead. You keep access through the end of the current billing period — Apple does not proactively refund partial months.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.

See Apple Music's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Apple Music ranks #60 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
Apple's help center warns that playlists added from the Apple Music catalog "will also no longer be available" once your subscription expires, and Sync Library turns off. Apple does not document a grace period. Regulars in r/AppleMusic report library retention anywhere from a day to years, with no way to predict which end you'll land on. Snapshot your library with a free tool like Hezel for iOS before you cancel, or export playlists to a text file, so you can rebuild if Apple wipes them.
Apple Music has no in-app cancel button — the cancel flow lives inside the iOS subscription manager. Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. This same path works on iPad and Apple Vision Pro.
If you don't want to leave the App Store, tap your profile photo in the top-right corner, scroll to the account sheet, and tap Manage Subscription. Both paths land on the same iOS subscription manager.
The Edit Subscription screen shows your current plan (Individual, Student, or Family), the renewal date, and the exact price you'll be charged next. If you're still in a free trial, the button at the bottom reads Cancel Free Trial instead of Cancel Subscription — same effect, different label.
Apple's help center says: "You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button." Below the button, fine print restates the auto-renewal terms and reminds you to cancel at least a day before the next charge. Tap through the confirmation prompt to finalize.
On Android, Windows, or when you don't have your iPhone handy, go to account.apple.com/account/manage/section/subscriptions and sign in with the Apple Account that pays for Apple Music. Apple's help center links this as the primary web method — it works everywhere. You can also cancel through music.apple.com by clicking the account icon, choosing Settings, scrolling to Subscriptions, and clicking Manage > Cancel Subscription.
After canceling, the subscription remains active through the end of the current billing period. On iOS, the Edit Subscription screen updates to show an expiration message in red text with the exact date. Apple does not send a follow-up email confirmation, so screenshot this screen if you need proof for a bank dispute.
Apple's help center is explicit: "If you pay for Apple Music through Google Play, you can cancel your subscription only in the Apple Music app on your Android device or at play.google.com." The account.apple.com and iOS Settings paths will not stop billing in this case — check your bank statement descriptor if you're unsure who bills you.
US carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile sometimes bundle Apple Music into a phone plan. Apple's help center directs you to "contact your wireless carrier or other provider for support" — the Apple-side subscription manager will not show a cancel button in this case. Sign in to your carrier's account portal and cancel the Apple Music add-on there.
Only the family organizer can cancel a Family subscription. Apple's help center states: "You can't cancel a family member's subscription." When the organizer cancels, every member of the family group loses Apple Music at the end of the billing period. Members can leave the family group, but that alone does not stop the organizer's bill.
Apple One (Apple Music + TV+ + iCloud+ + Arcade + News+) is a separate bundle, and canceling Apple Music while inside an Apple One trial cuts off your access immediately rather than at the end of the period. If you want to keep listening through the trial end date, cancel Apple One from the same subscription manager instead of Apple Music individually.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
