Confirm who bills you

Search email for a receipt from Apple or from Copilot / Stripe. Web and the Mac app downloaded from copilot.money bill through Stripe — those cancel at app.copilot.money. iPhone, iPad, or Mac App Store bills go through your Apple ID. Cancel on the same device and Apple ID you used to subscribe. This is Copilot Money (copilot.money), not GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.

Open Settings, then Subscription

Sign in at app.copilot.money. Open Settings (gear) and click Subscription. You'll see your cadence (Annual or Monthly), a trial or renewal date, Change plan, Manage payment, and a red Cancel subscription link. Help articles still say "Manage your subscription" — on the web the cancel control is on this page.

Click Cancel subscription

Click the red Cancel subscription text. Copilot Money opens a confirm dialog. Nothing is canceled until you confirm on the next screen.

The dialog asks "Cancel your Copilot subscription?" and states your access date: your subscription remains active until that day, and you can restart anytime. Click the red Cancel subscription button — not Keep subscription, which closes the dialog and leaves auto-renew on.

Verify the Ending date and Re-subscribe button

You land back on Subscription. The trial or renewal line should now read Ending [date], Cancel subscription is gone, and Re-subscribe to Copilot sits where Change plan was. That date is when billing stops and paid access ends — there is no free tier after it.

Keep using the app until that date

The dashboard, transactions, and budgets stay available through the end date already paid (or the remaining trial). Cancel only turns off auto-renewal. If you change your mind before that date, open Subscription and click Re-subscribe to Copilot.

If you subscribed through the App Store

The web Cancel subscription control will not appear as a working Stripe cancel, or it will not touch Apple billing. iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Copilot → Cancel Subscription → Confirm. Or App Store → your photo → Subscriptions → Copilot → Cancel Subscription. Mac App Store: App Store → your name → Account Settings → Manage next to Subscriptions → Copilot → Cancel subscription. Use the same Apple ID you subscribed with. In the list, pick Copilot Money — not GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot. Refunds for Apple charges go through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Do not delete the account instead of canceling

Deleting the Copilot Money account and canceling the subscription are separate. Help is explicit: cancel first. Deleting a Stripe (web or website-Mac) account auto-cancels that bill. Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store subscription — Apple keeps charging until you cancel in Subscriptions. Deletion also disconnects banks and wipes budgets; that cannot be undone.

Export your transactions before you leave

Cancel does not delete your data, but there is no free tier after the end date and ToS says you may lose access to content once the period is over. On iPhone: Settings → Account → Export your transactions (CSV). On the web: export from the Transactions tab, including a filtered subset. Export before you delete the account — deletion removes linked financial data from their systems within about 60 days.

Stripe portal or email if the web button is missing

If you subscribed on the web (or the Mac app from copilot.money) and cannot reach Settings, Copilot's help links a Stripe customer portal: billing.stripe.com/p/login/9AQ5mk0e15dP5jO7ss. You can also email support@copilot.money at least 24 hours before the period ends; ToS says they will try to stop the renewal and can refund that charge if they miss it. App Store plans must still be canceled with Apple.

Frequently Asked Questions

No new Copilot Money charge should hit once auto-renewal is off. You keep the app until the date on the confirm dialog and again on the Ending line. ToS requires you to cancel at least 24 hours before that date to avoid the next renewal. There is no pause. Watch the statement around the end date, and remember an App Store copy is a different subscription that web cancel does not touch.

Copilot Money does not prorate unused time. For a Stripe / web purchase, help and the Terms of Service promise a full refund only if you (1) bought from Copilot directly, (2) cancel within one month of the initial purchase, and (3) email support@copilot.money within five days of canceling. Outside that, they say you are not entitled to any refund or credit unless applicable law requires it — they do not publish a separate EU/UK day count. Apple charges: request a refund from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com); Copilot cannot issue those. Discretionary refunds are one-off and do not create a right to another.

Canceling does not delete the account. Banks stay connected and budgets stay in place through the end date. After that there is no free tier, and the Terms say you may lose access to features and work-product. Export a CSV before the end date if you want a copy. Deleting the account is the destructive path: connections drop, budgets and data are wiped, and you start from scratch if you come back. If you used Venmo email forwarding, turn that off in your email as well.

Cancel in Apple Subscriptions on the Apple ID that was charged. iPhone or iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Copilot → Cancel Subscription → Confirm. Mac: App Store → Account Settings → Manage subscriptions → Copilot → Cancel subscription. You can also open Settings → Subscription → Manage your subscription → Manage in the App Store inside the Copilot app. Uninstalling the app does nothing to billing. A web/Stripe plan will not show there — cancel that one at app.copilot.money.

Yes — and you should before the trial end date. New users get a 1-month trial after picking monthly ($13) or annual ($95/year). The trial auto-renews at that full rate unless you turn auto-renewal off. The web flow is the same: Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription. The confirm dialog still shows the date access ends (the trial end). Cancel at least 24 hours before that date.

Yes. Until the end date, open Settings → Subscription and click Re-subscribe to Copilot. After it lapses, subscribe again from the same screen (help labels this Subscribe again). Your login is still there if you did not delete the account. You may not get another free trial, and legacy (grandfathered) pricing is only for uninterrupted subscriptions — let it lapse and that rate is gone.
