Quick answer

Open Configuration, scroll to Manage Billing → Cancellation, and click the red Cancel Plan button. Work through the short survey, click Confirm & Cancel on the "benefits you'll lose" screen, and you'll see "Cancellation confirmed." You keep access until the end of the current billing period. Copy.ai only refunds within 5 calendar days of your initial purchase — after that the fee is final.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Configuration and find Manage Billing

Sign in at app.copy.ai. In the left sidebar click Configuration, then scroll down to the Manage Billing section. You'll see Invoices, Payment Information, and a Cancellation row at the bottom with a red Cancel Plan button.

2

Click Cancel Plan and pick a reason

Click Cancel Plan. A "We're sorry to see you go" dialog opens asking why you're leaving, with options like It's too expensive, It lacks key features, I'm using a different tool, I don't use it enough, I'm having technical issues, and Other reason. Pick one (or none) and click Next.

3

Answer the follow-up prompt (optional)

Some reasons reveal a follow-up box. If you pick "It's too expensive," Copy.ai asks "What do you think would be a fair price?" with a small text field. Type anything (or a placeholder) to satisfy the minimum-character counter, then click Next. Other reasons may show a similar free-text prompt.

4

Skip or fill the "Can We Improve?" feedback

Next is a "Can We Improve?" screen with a larger free-text box ("We read every answer..."). It enforces a minimum length before Next activates — type a few words if you want the button to enable, then click Next. This step is feedback only.

5

Read the retention warning, then Confirm & Cancel

Copy.ai shows a final "Premium benefits you'll lose when your subscription ends" screen, explaining you'll drop to limited words and older AI models. This is the last save attempt. To go through with it, click the black Confirm & Cancel button.

Confirm "Cancellation confirmed."

A final dialog reads "Cancellation confirmed. You won't be billed again," with a Go to Account button. Back on the billing page a green toast also appears: "Your subscription has been canceled!" Your plan stays active until the end of the current period, then your workspace drops to the free plan.

If this applies to you

If the in-app button isn't there, email cancel@copy.ai

Copy.ai's Terms of Service give an alternate cancellation route: email cancel@copy.ai. Use it if you're not the workspace owner, the Cancel Plan button is missing, or you're on an older plan. Send it from the email on the account and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription period.

Act fast if you want a refund (5-day window)

Copy.ai's Terms state you may cancel for a full refund within five (5) calendar days of your initial purchase. After that the purchase is final and non-refundable. If you're inside that window and want money back rather than just stopping renewal, email cancel@copy.ai right away and request the refund explicitly — the in-app Cancel Plan flow stops future billing but doesn't trigger a refund on its own.

If this applies to you

Export anything you want to keep

After the period ends you drop to the free plan (2,000 words/month, older models). Before then, copy out any chats, saved prompts, brand voices, or Infobase entries you rely on, and download past invoices from Manage Billing → View Invoices for your records.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you click Confirm & Cancel (or email cancel@copy.ai), Copy.ai disables auto-renewal and the confirmation reads "You won't be billed again." You keep full access until the end of the current billing period, then your workspace automatically drops to the free plan. Check your card statement after the renewal date to confirm no further charge went through.

Only inside a narrow window. Copy.ai's Terms of Service let you cancel for a full refund within five (5) calendar days of your initial purchase; after that the fee is final and non-refundable, and canceling later just stops future billing without refunding the current period. To claim a refund in those 5 days, email cancel@copy.ai and ask for it explicitly. EU/UK users may have a separate statutory 14-day cooling-off right shortly after a charge.

Open Configuration → Manage Billing → Cancellation and click Cancel Plan, then work through the reason survey, the "Can We Improve?" feedback, and the "benefits you'll lose" warning, ending with Confirm & Cancel. If you can't reach that button — you're not the workspace owner, or it isn't showing — Copy.ai's Terms let you cancel by emailing cancel@copy.ai instead.

No. Copy.ai is a web app billed by card through the dashboard, not an app-store subscription. There's no Apple or Google Play subscription to manage — cancel from Configuration → Manage Billing → Cancel Plan in the browser, or by emailing cancel@copy.ai.

Your paid features stay active until the end of the current period, then the workspace downgrades to the free plan — 2,000 words per month and access to older AI models, per the retention screen ("limited words and access to older AI models"). Your chats and Infobase generally remain, but premium limits apply. Export any prompts, brand voices, or generated content you want to keep before the downgrade takes effect.

No. The billing page states you "keep access to your workspace through the end of the month," and the Terms confirm cancellation is "effective at the end of the then-current Subscription period." So you don't lose access the moment you cancel — you keep the paid plan until the current period ends, then drop to free. If you cancel by email, the same end-of-period timing applies.
