Quick answer

Open Settings → Account in the Fabric web app, scroll to Payment and plan management, and click Cancel subscription :(. Type a quick reason in the Unsubscribe dialog, then click Continue to unsubscribe. Your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then drops to Free — Fabric doesn't prorate the unused time.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Settings and go to Account

Sign in to Fabric on the web (fabric.so) and open Settings. In the left sidebar under "Personal settings for this workspace," click Account. This is where your profile, billing, and the Danger zone all live.

2

Scroll to "Payment and plan management"

Scroll down past Profile info, Achievements, and "Refresh and sessions" until you reach the Payment and plan management block. You'll see three buttons: See all Fabric plans, Manage payment method, and Cancel subscription :(.

3

Click "Cancel subscription :("

Click the Cancel subscription :( button. Fabric opens an "Unsubscribe" dialog asking why you're leaving — the cancellation isn't finished yet, so nothing has changed on your account at this point.

4

Enter a reason to enable the button

Type a short reason in the text box (for example, "No budget for this"). The "Continue to unsubscribe" button stays greyed out until you enter something, so a few words is enough to activate it.

5

Confirm with "Continue to unsubscribe"

Click Continue to unsubscribe to finish. Your subscription is now set to cancel at the end of the current billing period. You keep all paid features (your AI agent, storage, transcription, and the rest) until that date, then your workspace moves to the Free plan automatically.

6

Verify your plan downgrade date

Back on the Account page, the top banner reflects your current plan and renewal status. While you're still in the paid window it will read like "You're a Fabric Pro (monthly)" — once the period ends it switches to Free. You can re-check anytime from Settings → Account, or from "See all Fabric plans."

If you don't see a Cancel button, use Manage subscription

On the "See all Fabric plans" page, your active plan (e.g. Pro) shows a blue "Manage subscription" button with "Cancel anytime" beneath it. This opens Fabric's billing portal, where you can cancel, switch between Yearly/Monthly/Weekly billing, or change plans — useful if the in-app cancel button isn't showing for you.

If you subscribed through the iOS or Android app

If you upgraded inside Fabric's mobile app, Apple or Google may be handling the billing instead of Fabric. In that case cancel through Apple (Settings > your name > Subscriptions) or Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions) — the web app's cancel button won't stop an App Store or Play Store charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you click Continue to unsubscribe, Fabric won't renew your subscription. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then your workspace drops to the Free plan. No further charges are taken after you confirm the cancellation.

Yes. Canceling sets your plan to expire at the end of the current period rather than ending it immediately. Until that date you keep everything in your tier — your AI agent, expanded storage, audio/video transcription, AI models, and more. After it lapses, those paid features are replaced by the Free plan's limits (a 150-item cap, 25MB file uploads, and limited AI usage).

Fabric's cancel flow doesn't offer an automatic prorated refund — canceling simply stops the next renewal and lets your current period run out. If you were billed annually and want a partial refund for unused months, contact Fabric support directly (the team is active in their Discord, linked from the Account page) rather than relying on the in-app cancel button to issue one.

Canceling (the "Cancel subscription :(" button) only ends the paid plan — your account, notes, files, and email-to-Fabric address all stay, just on the Free tier. Deleting (the red "Delete your account and all your Fabric data" button in the Danger zone) is permanent and removes everything. If you only want to stop paying, cancel; don't use the Danger zone.

Open "See all Fabric plans" from Settings → Account and use the Yearly / Monthly / Weekly toggle, then click Manage subscription on your current plan to change the billing interval in Fabric's billing portal. Yearly billing gives you the equivalent of about two months free versus monthly — Plus is $56/year (~$4.67/mo) vs $6/mo, and Pro is $150/year (~$12.50/mo) vs $16/mo.

If you upgraded through Fabric's iOS or Android app, Apple or Google manages the billing, and the web app can't cancel a charge it didn't create. Cancel through your App Store subscriptions (iPhone: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions) or Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions) instead. Your Fabric access continues until that store-billed period ends.
