Quick answer

Open Settings in Craft, go to My Subscription (or Team Settings if you're on a Family plan), scroll to the Danger Zone, and click Cancel Subscription. You keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, then drop to the Free plan — your documents and data are untouched, and you can hit Resume Subscription any time before the period ends.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Settings and find your subscription

Open Settings from your Space name or profile menu. In the sidebar under General Settings you'll see Account Settings, My Subscriptions, My Family, and more. Click into the plan you're paying for — an individual Plus subscription lives under My Subscription, while a Family plan is managed under My Family.

2

Open Billing & Subscription (or Team Settings)

For an individual Plus plan, click Settings and Billing on your subscription. For a Family plan, open Team Settings — the family subscription and its cancel control live there, not on your personal account page.

3

Scroll to the Danger Zone

On the Team Settings page, scroll past the family name and Published Content settings to the Danger Zone section at the bottom. This is where both Cancel Subscription and Delete Team live.

4

Click Cancel Subscription

Click Cancel Subscription (it's labeled with your plan name, e.g. "Cancel Plus Subscription" or "Cancel Family Subscription"). Craft confirms that after canceling you can keep using paid features until the end of the current billing period, after which the account moves to the Free plan.

5

Confirm the cancellation and your end date

After confirming, the Danger Zone updates to show "Your subscription has been cancelled" along with a Resume Subscription button. That confirms the cancellation went through. Craft does not give partial-period refunds by default, but you keep full access until the period ends.

Changed your mind? Resume before the period ends

If you cancel and then reconsider, click Resume Subscription in the Danger Zone. As long as you do it before your current billing period ends, your plan continues uninterrupted with no new charge beyond your normal renewal.

If you subscribed through the App Store (Apple)

If you bought Craft through the App Store on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, Apple manages the subscription and Craft's in-app cancel button won't apply. Cancel through Apple instead: Settings > your name > Subscriptions on iOS, or App Store > account > Subscriptions on Mac. Only Apple can issue a refund for an App Store subscription.

If you got Craft through Setapp

Setapp subscribers manage Craft through the Setapp portal at my.setapp.com, not through Craft's settings. There's no separate Craft subscription to cancel in-app — adjust or cancel it from your Setapp account.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you cancel, Craft stops billing you at the end of the current period — there's no further charge. You keep your paid features (unlimited content, 50 AI credits, version history, shared Spaces) until that date, then the account drops to the Free plan. Check your card statement after the period ends to confirm no renewal slipped through, especially if you originally signed up during an annual sale.

Craft doesn't offer automatic prorated refunds — canceling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period ends. If you were charged recently and want a refund, email support@craft.do and explain the situation; support can review direct (Stripe or Paddle) charges case by case. App Store purchases are different: only Apple can refund those, through Apple's own refund request flow.

Nothing is deleted. Craft states that your documents and data are never affected by subscription changes — canceling just moves you to the Free plan. You keep everything you created, but Free-plan limits return: a 1,500-block content cap, 1 GB storage, 7-day version history, and 15 AI credits. If you're over those limits, existing documents stay readable but you may hit caps on new content until you upgrade again.

Craft's in-app cancel button only works for subscriptions bought directly from Craft. If you subscribed through the App Store, Apple manages it: go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on iPhone/iPad, or App Store > account > Subscriptions on Mac. If you got Craft via Setapp, manage it at my.setapp.com. In both cases there's no Craft-side subscription to cancel.

The cancel control isn't on your personal account page — it moved into Team / Family settings. Open Settings, then look for Team Settings (reachable via the three-dots icon next to your team or family name) and scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom. Family plans can only be cancelled by the billing owner who created the family, so members won't see the option at all.

Yes. After you cancel, the Danger Zone shows a Resume Subscription button. Click it before your current billing period ends and your plan continues without interruption. If the period has already lapsed and you're back on Free, you can resubscribe at any time from the pricing options — your documents are all still there.
