Quick answer

In the Cosmos app, open SettingsManage membership and tap the red CANCEL next to your Infinite Plan. Finish in Apple's Subscriptions sheet: tap Cancel Subscription, then Confirm. You keep Infinite access until the end date shown — deleting the Cosmos app does not stop billing. Full Apple walkthrough: support.apple.com/en-us/118428.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Settings, then Manage membership

In the Cosmos app, open your profile and tap Settings. On the Settings list, tap Manage membership — the row that reads "Make changes to your subscription." Cosmos does not publish a standalone cancel page; this is the in-app handoff into Apple's billing.

2

Tap CANCEL next to Infinite Plan

The Membership screen shows Your subscription with your plan name (for example Infinite Plan) and a red CANCEL control on the right. Tap CANCEL. Cosmos then opens the system Subscriptions UI — the cancel is not finished inside Cosmos.

3

Select Cosmos in your Subscriptions list

On the iOS Subscriptions screen, find Cosmos under Active (the App Store title reads along the lines of Cosmos: Curate your universe / Cosmos Monthly Subscription). Tap that row. You can also reach the same list anytime via iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, without opening Cosmos first.

4

Tap Cancel Subscription

The detail sheet shows the plan name, price, and renewal date, with a red Cancel Subscription button underneath. Apple also prints that if you cancel now you can still access the subscription until that renewal date. Tap Cancel Subscription.

5

Confirm Cancellation

Apple shows a Confirm Cancellation alert with the exact date your access ends, plus Not Now and Confirm. Tap Confirm. Nothing is canceled until that second tap lands.

6

Verify the red expiring-soon banner

The sheet should now show a red "Your subscription is expiring soon" line, the expiration date, and a Renew button instead of Cancel Subscription. Write down that end date — you keep Infinite features until then, then drop to the free Cosmos account. Apple's own guidance: if you see red expiration text and no Cancel button, the subscription is already canceled.

If you subscribed on Android through Google Play

Cancel in the Play Store, not only inside Cosmos: open Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cosmos → Cancel subscription. Or use play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions in a browser. Google Play also lists Cosmos with in-app purchases, so Android billing is a real branch even when your screenshots are from iPhone.

If this applies to you

If you also want a refund for a charge already taken

Canceling stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund the period you already paid for. For App Store charges, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com (Apple Support: "Request a refund"). Approval is Apple's call and varies by region. Cancel first, then request the refund — a refund alone does not always end auto-renew.

If this applies to you

If you want to close the Cosmos account itself

Cosmos's Terms say you may cancel your account by emailing hey@cosmos.so. Do that only after the Apple or Google subscription shows as canceled or expired. Closing the account (or deleting the app) while Infinite is still Active leaves the store charge running with nothing on your home screen to remind you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not if Apple (or Google) shows the subscription as canceled. After you Confirm, the sheet should read that the subscription is expiring soon and name the last access date — you keep Infinite until that day, then no further renewals. If Cancel Subscription is still visible and there is no red expiration line, you are still subscribed. Deleting the Cosmos app is not a cancel.

Maybe, but not from Cosmos's own site. App Store purchases go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play has its own refund flow. Cosmos publishes no prorated refund policy in its Terms — canceling normally means access through the paid period only. EU and UK buyers may also have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right on distance-sold digital subscriptions, separate from Apple's discretionary refunds.

Your Cosmos account and saved elements stay — canceling Infinite turns off the paid plan at the end of the billing period; it is not the same as deleting the account. Export or download anything you care about before the expiration date if you plan to leave the platform entirely. To remove the account itself, Cosmos's Terms point to hey@cosmos.so after billing is already stopped.

You must cancel with that store. Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cosmos → Cancel Subscription → Confirm (or start from Cosmos Settings → Manage membership → CANCEL, which opens the same sheet). Google: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cosmos → Cancel. Cosmos cannot end an App Store or Play subscription for you from hey@cosmos.so.

Yes, if Apple offered a free or discounted trial for the Infinite SKU. Apple's rule is to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends so the paid renewal does not start. Use the same Subscriptions path; the sheet shows when the trial converts. If a charge already posted, cancel the subscription and then request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Yes. Before the expiration date, the Apple sheet offers Renew; after it lapses you can subscribe again from the Cosmos Membership screen or the App Store. Your free account and saves remain unless you separately asked Cosmos to delete the account. Expect the standard Infinite price shown on the store (US App Store lists monthly and yearly SKUs) rather than a special returning-customer rate — Cosmos does not publish one.
