Quick answer

In the Fey web app, open Settings, click Update subscription, choose Cancel your membership, then Confirm cancellation (skip the Pause for a month off-ramp). Fey's own help puts it plainly: "one click, no questions asked." Your charges stop and you keep full access until the end of the current billing period — Fey publishes no prorated-refund policy.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Settings and click Update subscription

Sign in to the Fey web app and open Settings. On the right you'll see your subscription card showing your current plan and next payment date, with a Billing history link and an Update subscription button. Click Update subscription.

Fey Settings page; the subscription card on the right shows a $30 Monthly plan with "Next payment: Mar 4, 2025" in green, a Billing history link, and an Update subscription button
2

Choose "Cancel your membership"

Update subscription opens a Preferences command popover. At the top it lists your Payment plans (Monthly and Annual); at the bottom, under "Fey membership", is a red Cancel your membership link. Click it.

Click Confirm cancellation (skip "Pause for a month")

Fey shows a "Cancelling your membership" screen. It confirms it will stop all future charges and that your access continues until the end of your current billing period, then lists what you lose once the subscription expires: weekly market updates, the app and all research data, your curated news feed, and your watchlist. Three controls sit at the bottom — Pause for a month, Keep membership, and Confirm cancellation. Click Confirm cancellation.

Verify the cancellation registered

You're returned to Settings with a "Your subscription is cancelled" toast, and the subscription card flips from a green "Next payment" to a red "Subscription ends: {date}". That date is when access actually stops — you keep everything until then. Seeing the red banner is your proof it worked; if it still shows a green "Next payment", the cancellation did not go through.

If you're still in your 7-day free trial

The cancel flow is identical during the trial. Your subscription card reads "Trial ends {date}" instead of "Next payment" — follow the same Update subscription → Cancel your membership → Confirm cancellation path before that date and you won't be charged a cent. Fey also emails a reminder 24 hours before the trial ends.

If you don't recognise the charge or the cancel button is missing

Wealthsimple acquired Fey in August 2025, so an unfamiliar merchant name on your statement may simply be the Fey subscription under new ownership — the self-serve cancel above is unchanged and still lives at fey.com. If the in-app Cancel ever fails to stop billing, reach Fey through Settings → Support ("Talk to us or join our Slack") and keep an eye on your statement until the listed end date passes.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once the subscription card shows the red "Subscription ends: {date}" banner, Fey stops billing you and you keep full access until that date — there is no further charge for the next period. Check your statement after the end date to be sure nothing slipped through. One note: Fey was acquired by Wealthsimple in August 2025, so if you see an unfamiliar merchant descriptor, that may be the reason rather than a stray charge.

Fey does not publish a prorated-refund policy. In practice, cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for — that retained access is the closest thing to a refund. If you are within 14 days of first subscribing and in the EU or UK, the statutory right of withdrawal may entitle you to a refund. During the 7-day free trial there is nothing to refund — just cancel before it ends. To ask about a specific refund, contact Fey via Settings → "Talk to us or join our Slack".

They stay available until your access end date, then stop. Fey's own cancel screen spells out exactly what you lose when the subscription expires: weekly market updates, the app and all research data, your curated news feed, and your watchlist. Fey does not document a grace period that preserves this data after the end date, so export or note anything you want to keep before then.

Yes, and the steps are the same. While you are in the 7-day trial, the subscription card reads "Trial ends {date}". Go to Settings → Update subscription → Cancel your membership → Confirm cancellation before that date and you will not be charged. Fey sends an email reminder 24 hours before the trial converts, so you get a warning either way.

Yes. The same Preferences popover you reach via Update subscription lists both plans — Monthly at $30/month and Annual at $300/year — so you can change billing instead of cancelling. Annual works out to about $25/month, roughly two months cheaper per year than paying monthly. Switching plans is not the same as cancelling, though: pick a plan row to change billing, or the red "Cancel your membership" to leave.

Yes. Before your access end date you can resume directly from the subscription card with no gap. After it lapses, you can subscribe again at fey.com. One catch worth knowing: Fey says your rate "stays locked as long as your subscription remains active" — so if you let it lapse and the price has since changed, re-subscribing may be at the then-current rate rather than your old one.
