Quick answer

Deepstash Pro is billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, so the in-app Cancel your subscription button only walks you through a retention funnel — the actual cancellation happens in your phone's subscription settings. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Deepstash → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period, and Deepstash fees are non-refundable.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open your Deepstash subscription screen

In the Deepstash app, open your profile and go to the "My subscription: Pro" screen. Scroll to the "Additional Info" section at the bottom and tap the red "Cancel your subscription".

2

Skip the "You'll lose access" scare

Deepstash lists everything you'll lose — ads return, limited journeys, no saving ideas, no offline downloads, no history. Tap "Continue to cancel" at the bottom. Ignore the large blue "Keep my benefits" button.

3

Get past the "What did you enjoy the most?" survey

A survey asks which parts of Deepstash you liked (the content, the bite-sized format, and so on). Answering is optional — you can select nothing or tap a few, then tap "Continue".

4

Skip the "What would make you stay?" prompt

Next is a free-text box asking what would make you stay with Deepstash Pro. You can leave it blank and tap "Continue" — nothing you type here is required to cancel.

5

Decline the discounted-year save offer

Deepstash makes its strongest pitch here: a heavily discounted year (for example, "8 free months — get 1 year by paying for just 4 months") with the regular price struck through. To keep canceling, tap "Continue to cancel". Only tap "Claim offer now" if you actually want to stay at the discount.

How about a little boost? save offer showing 8 FREE MONTHS, a struck-through 129.98 SGD reduced to 39.98 SGD per year, a Claim offer now button, and a Continue to cancel link
6

Tap "See how to cancel" on the goodbye screen

The final "You're about to leave Pro" screen offers "I changed my mind" one last time. Tap the red "See how to cancel" instead. Deepstash cannot cancel the subscription for you — it hands you off to your app store.

7

Finish the cancellation in your App Store settings

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, select Deepstash, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period, then it stops renewing.

On Android, cancel in Google Play instead

If you subscribed on Android, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, select Deepstash, and tap Cancel subscription.

Confirm the charge actually stopped

After cancelling, check that Deepstash no longer shows a renewal date in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions list, and watch your next statement. Some users have reported being billed again after they believed they had cancelled, so verify rather than assume.

Cancelling during the 7-day free trial

If you're still inside the 7-day Deepstash Pro free trial, cancel through the same App Store or Google Play subscriptions screen before the trial end date to avoid the first charge. You keep trial access until the trial expires.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — once you cancel in the App Store or Google Play, Deepstash won't renew. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Because billing runs through Apple or Google, the safest confirmation is that the subscription shows no upcoming renewal date. A few users have reported unexpected charges after cancelling, so check your next statement to be sure the charge stopped.

Deepstash's Terms of Service state that all fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, and Deepstash does not process refunds directly — billing is handled by Apple or Google. Request a refund through the platform that charged you: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com (acting within a few days improves your odds), or Google Play (which is more flexible within the first 48 hours). Approvals are discretionary. One caution: some Deepstash purchase funnels have advertised a "30-day money-back guarantee," but an EU user reports it carries fine print — a minimum-usage condition (around 100 ideas read over 5 days) and the account must still exist — and their refund was denied on those grounds. Don't count on the guarantee; the store refund routes above are the reliable path.

Your account and free-tier access remain. When Pro ends you drop to the free version: ads return, journeys are limited, and Pro-only abilities — saving unlimited ideas, offline downloads, listening/narration, and full history — are turned off. Your existing profile and stashes aren't deleted, but Pro features around them stop working until you resubscribe.

That is the only way Deepstash Pro is billed. On iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Deepstash → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Deepstash → Cancel subscription. The in-app "Cancel your subscription" button only shows retention offers and then sends you to these same settings.

Yes. Deepstash offers a 7-day Pro free trial that converts to a paid subscription if you don't cancel. Cancel through your App Store or Google Play subscriptions screen before the trial end date and you won't be charged; you keep trial access until it expires.

Deepstash prices vary by region and are actively price-tested, so what you see may differ. In the US App Store, Pro is commonly $12.99/month or $69.99/year, though higher yearly tiers ($89.99–$99.99) appear for some accounts. There is no public web pricing page — the exact figure shows on the in-app Manage Subscription screen. Discounted prices inside the cancel funnel are temporary retention offers, not the standard rate. Deepstash also sells one-time "Lifetime Pro" codes through third-party deal stores — those never renew, so there's nothing to cancel; activation questions go to support@deepstash.com.
