Step-by-step instructions

Go to account.microsoft.com/services and sign in

Find your Microsoft 365 subscription and click "Manage"

Select "Cancel subscription" or "Turn off recurring billing" and follow the prompts

OneDrive storage drops from 1TB to 5GB free - if you exceed 5GB, account becomes read-only (download/delete only, no uploads)

Desktop Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) enter read-only mode - web versions at Office.com remain available with limited features

Prorated refunds available within 60 days for annual subscriptions - monthly plans are non-refundable

After 12 months of exceeding the 5GB OneDrive limit, files may be deleted
