Quick answer

Sign in at sketch.com/signin as a Workspace Admin, open Settings → Billing, click Cancel Subscription…, then confirm with the red Cancel Subscription button. You keep full access until the end date shown in the modal — Sketch does not refund unused months on monthly plans.

Sketch was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Sign in as a Workspace Admin

Open sketch.com/signin and sign in with an Admin account for the Workspace you want to cancel. Only Admins see Cancel Subscription. If you manage more than one Workspace, use the Switch Workspace control in the top-left of the sidebar and confirm the correct Workspace name is showing before you continue.

2

Open Settings → Billing

Click the Settings (gear) icon at the top of the left sidebar, then click Billing under Workspace. You'll see your current plan, payment method (processed by Stripe), billing details, and a Cancel Subscription section near the bottom.

3

Click Cancel Subscription…

Scroll to the Cancel Subscription section. Sketch states that after canceling you can keep using Sketch until the end of the current billing period. Click the red Cancel Subscription… button.

4

Confirm in the Cancel Subscription? modal

A modal titled Cancel Subscription? shows the exact date you and other Workspace Members can keep using Sketch. After that date you lose access to documents, can't manage Members, and Editors can't save to the Workspace. Click the red Cancel Subscription button to finish — or Keep Plan to bail out.

5

Verify the Subscription Canceled badge

Back on Billing, Next Billing Date shows a red Subscription Canceled badge and copy that you can keep using the Workspace until the end date. Your plan card still shows the current plan or trial with that end date. That badge is your confirmation — Sketch won't renew past it.

Download your documents before the 90-day wipe

When the access-end date hits, the Workspace goes read-only — you can view and download documents, but Editors can't save or upload, and you can't add or edit members. Sketch permanently deletes the Workspace and all documents 90 days after cancel or expiry. Expect a reminder email about two months in; after that you have roughly 30 days left. Export anything you need before the wipe — manual Workspace deletion earlier also cannot be undone.

If you subscribed through the Mac App Store

App Store Sketch subscriptions are billed by Apple, not through Sketch Billing. On Mac: open the App Store → click your name (bottom left) → Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage → Edit next to Sketch → Cancel Subscription. Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple Support, not Sketch.

No Admin access, or on Enterprise / Private Cloud

If you lost the Admin email or Cancel Subscription is missing, contact Sketch support from the Workspace Owner email. Enterprise and Private Cloud are sales-managed — cancelation and non-renewal go through Sketch's contact/support path, not the self-serve Billing button.

Request an annual initial-purchase refund (if eligible)

For yearly billing, Sketch offers a full refund within 30 days of the initial purchase only — additional seats and renewals are not refundable. Monthly plans have no refunds. Contact support with your Workspace Owner email, invoice number, and the last four digits of the card. Outside that window, canceling still stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you cancel, Sketch won't renew. You keep full access until the end date shown in the confirmation modal and on the Billing page. There are no prorated refunds for unused time on monthly plans — you simply stop being billed for the next cycle.

It depends on the plan. Annual subscriptions: full refund within 30 days of the initial purchase only; renewals and extra seats are not refundable. Monthly subscriptions: no refunds — cancel anytime to avoid the next charge. App Store purchases: request refunds from Apple Support. EU and UK consumers may also have a 14-day withdrawal right on new distance contracts under local law. Refund requests need the Workspace Owner email, invoice number, and last four card digits.

You keep normal access until the stated end date. After that, the Workspace goes read-only for up to 90 days so you can download documents — Editors can't save or upload, and you can't manage members. Sketch permanently deletes the Workspace and all documents after that 90-day window. There is no free plan to fall back on. If you manually delete the Workspace sooner, documents cannot be restored.

Cancel in Apple's App Store, not in Sketch Billing: App Store → your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage → Edit → Cancel Subscription. Sketch's web Cancel Subscription button won't stop an Apple-billed subscription. The same 90-day Workspace deletion timeline still applies after cancel — download your documents.

Yes. Sketch's 30-day trial doesn't require a card. If you never added billing details, you can let the trial expire or delete the Workspace — there's nothing to charge. If you added a card (or already started a paid plan), use Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription before the trial or period ends so you aren't billed. Canceling during the trial means you won't be charged.

Within 90 days of cancel or expiry, you can reactivate by contacting Sketch support — as long as you haven't manually deleted the Workspace. After the 90-day window the Workspace is permanently deleted, so you'd be starting fresh with a new signup. Reactivation is not a one-click self-serve button on Billing; support handles the next steps.
