Quick answer

On a trial: open track.toggl.com/subscription (Admin Console → Billing), open the ⋮ menu on Toggl Track, click Cancel trial, then Cancel trial now — Premium ends immediately and you drop to Free. On a paid plan: use Cancel Subscription (same page); access continues until the billing-cycle end date. Toggl does not refund cancellations or renewals.

Toggl Track was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Billing in the Admin Console

Sign in at track.toggl.com, open the Admin Console, and go to Billing (help articles also call this Subscription — same page at track.toggl.com/subscription). On the Overview tab, Your plans lists each Toggl product. For a trial you'll see Toggl Track as Trial - Premium with a price estimate of 0.

2

Open the three-dot menu on Toggl Track

On the Toggl Track row, click the vertical three-dot (⋮) menu. You'll see Change plan, Manage seats, and Cancel trial in red. If Billing also lists Toggl Focus, use that product's own ⋮ menu — canceling Track does not cancel Focus.

3

Click Cancel trial

Choose Cancel trial. Toggl opens a confirmation modal titled "Important: your trial will finish" with a red Cancel trial now button and a Stay on trial link underneath.

4

Confirm with Cancel trial now

Read the warning, then click Cancel trial now. Stay on trial backs out without ending Premium. There is no reason survey or save-offer carousel on this trial path — just the confirm modal.

5

Verify you are on Free

After confirming, Billing Overview should show Toggl Track as Free with a price estimate of 0. Your time entries, projects, and clients stay on the account — you lose Premium-only features (and Starter features if you were on a paid Starter plan) right away when ending a trial.

If this applies to you

If you are on a paid plan (not a trial)

Paid Starter or Premium cancel from the same Billing / Subscription page. Help center steps: open Subscription, click Cancel Subscription in the My Plan section (or use the ⋮ menu next to the app), then continue through the confirmation modals. Your organization stays on the paid plan until the end of the current billing cycle — that date appears in My Plan. Canceling stops future charges; it does not refund the period you already paid.

Too many users for Free? Expect suspension

If your active user count is within the Free plan limit, canceling a paid plan downgrades the organization to Free when the cycle ends. If you are over that limit, Toggl suspends the organization instead — you cannot track new time until you reduce active users or restore a paid subscription. Vacant licenses are also not removed mid-cycle; they stay billed until the period actually ends.

Export or keep Free data active

Canceling is not account deletion. On Free, Toggl deletes inactive free-plan organizations and workspaces after six months with no new or edited time entries (you get reminder emails first). Paid organizations are exempt. Export time data from the help center export tools if you are walking away for good.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you end a free trial and never added a payment method, no — there was nothing to charge. If you cancel a paid plan, Toggl stops future renewals; you keep paid access until the end of the current billing cycle shown in Billing / My Plan. Vacant licenses you already bought stay billed until that cycle ends.

Toggl's help center states a No refund policy for cancelled or changed plans and for renewals after they have been charged, unless the charge was a system error. When you cancel a paid plan, the current billing period is still honored — that remaining access is not a cash refund. EU and UK consumers may have a separate 14-day withdrawal right under local law for new subscriptions; that is a legal overlay, not Toggl's self-serve refund button. Contact Support with a bank-statement screenshot and last four card digits if a charge looks wrong.

Your workspace data stays after a trial end or paid cancel. Paid-plan-only report features stop once you are on Free (or when a paid cancel reaches the cycle end). Free-plan organizations with no new or edited time entries for six months can be deleted under Toggl's inactive account policy — export first if you need a long-term archive. Deleted data under that policy cannot be restored in-app; Support may provide a CSV export within a limited window after deletion.

Open Billing / Subscription → ⋮ on Toggl Track → Cancel trial → Cancel trial now. Premium ends immediately and you drop to Free. You can also do nothing: if you never committed to a paid plan with payment details, the 30-day trial ends on its own and you land on Free without a charge.

No. Trial Cancel trial now is immediate Free. Paid Cancel Subscription keeps paid features until the billing-cycle end date and does not refund that period. The entry point is the same Billing / Subscription page; the button label and timing differ.

Yes. From Billing / Explore plans (or All Plans), pick Starter or Premium, choose monthly or annual billing, and complete payment. Your existing organization and time data remain unless a Free inactivity deletion already removed them. Enterprise stays contact-sales.
