Sign in, open Settings → Billing, and click Cancel subscription (or Cancel trial if you're on a free trial), then confirm with Turn off auto-renew. Your paid features stay active until the end of the current billing cycle, after which the account drops to the Free plan. On a trial, turning off auto-renew before the expiry date means you are never charged.

When your plan ends, Vimeo downgrades you to Free, which has far less storage and removes paid features. Videos above the Free storage limit can become inaccessible, and any VOD titles you sell stop being available. Before you cancel, download originals or move work you need to keep — this is the step creators most often regret skipping.
Sign in at vimeo.com, click your avatar, then Settings. Choose Membership plan, then Billing in the left sidebar. This page shows your current plan, the renewal cost, your subscription start date, and your payment method.
Click the red Cancel link. Ignore the purple Upgrade buttons and the "Add seats" prompts — those are upsells, not part of canceling.
A dialog headed "Are you sure you want to cancel?" lists the exact date your plan expires and the features you'll lose. Click the red Turn off auto-renew button to finish. Choosing "Return to settings" cancels nothing and keeps your renewal on.
You're returned to the Billing page. Auto-renew is now off and the plan is set to end on the date shown in the dialog. On a trial, the Free trial badge changes state and the Upgrade button greys out — signs the renewal won't charge.
You keep full access to your paid plan until the current billing cycle finishes — Vimeo does not strip features the moment you cancel. After that date the account becomes Free automatically. There is nothing else to do.
Refunds aren't automatic, but Vimeo offers a money-back guarantee: a full refund if you cancel within the first 14 days of an annual subscription, or the first 3 days of a monthly one. If you're inside that window, contact Vimeo Support to request it rather than relying on the cancel button alone.
If you bought your plan inside Vimeo's iOS or Android app, the charge goes through the App Store or Google Play and Vimeo's website won't show a cancel button for it. Cancel through Apple (Settings > your name > Subscriptions) or Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions) instead.
Before the plan actually expires, you can return to Settings > Billing and turn auto-renew back on to avoid lapsing to Free. After the plan has ended you'd need to subscribe again from scratch.
