Quick answer

On the web, open the whop (community) you want to leave, click its name at the top of the left panel, choose Manage membership, then Leave. For a paid membership you'll get an "Are you sure?" survey and a "Before you go" discount offer — pick Cancel membership, then No thanks, cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Leaving stops future billing but does not auto-refund — refunds are a separate request through your Orders page, and the seller (not Whop) decides.

Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? which subscriptions raised prices this year.

See Whop's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Whop ranks #37 of 101 by cancellation difficulty.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open the whop you want to cancel

Sign in at whop.com and open the community (whop) whose membership you want to end from the left sidebar under "Joined". Each membership is canceled individually — Whop has no single "cancel my account" switch, so if you belong to several paid whops you repeat this for each one.

2

Open the community menu and click Manage membership

At the top of the middle panel, click the community name (it has a small chevron next to it) to open its menu. Choose "Manage membership". The same menu also has Contact support, Invite people, and Leave a review.

3

Click Leave in the Memberships dialog

A "Memberships" dialog opens listing your membership for that whop, its price, and whether it's Free, One-time, or recurring. Click the grey "Leave" button. There's also a "Need help?" link here if you'd rather talk to support first.

4

Get past the "Are you sure?" reason survey

For a paid membership, Whop shows an "Are you sure? You will lose all access" screen with a cancellation-reason survey (Too expensive, Switching to a competitor, Missing features I need, Technical issues, Other) and a "Tell us more" box. Picking a reason and writing a note are both optional — you can leave them blank.

5

Note your access-until date, then click Cancel membership

Near the bottom of the same dialog Whop tells you "If you cancel you will continue to have access until [date]" — that's the end of the period you've already paid for. Click the red "Cancel membership" button to continue. (The grey "Nevermind" button keeps your membership active.)

6

Decline the "Before you go" discount

Many sellers attach a retention offer that fires next — a "Before you go..." screen with a percentage discount on your next payment (for example "5% OFF — $0.95/month, was $1.00"). To finish cancelling, click "No thanks, cancel". Only click "Claim discount" if you actually want to stay at the lower rate.

7

Confirm the cancellation

Whop closes the dialogs and shows a "Your membership has been canceled" toast in the corner. The membership now reads as canceled but stays accessible until the access-until date you saw earlier. That's it — no future charges for this whop.

Want money back? Request a refund separately

Cancelling only stops future billing — it does not refund what you already paid. To ask for a refund, click your profile photo, go to Orders, find the charge under Billing history, click the three-dot [...] menu, and choose "Request Refund", then explain why with any evidence. Whop's Resolution Center routes it to the seller and gives a decision within about a week. Note the seller can deny it, so be specific.

If this applies to you

If you subscribed through the iOS app (Apple)

If you bought the membership inside Whop's iPhone/iPad app, Apple may be handling billing. In that case cancel through Apple instead: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Whop > Cancel Subscription. Cancelling on the website may not stop an Apple-billed charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no fixed price to be a Whop member — Whop is a marketplace where each creator sets the price of their own community, course, or group. A membership can be free, a one-time payment, or a recurring monthly/yearly charge, so what you pay depends entirely on which whop you joined. Whop's own platform fee (free to set up, then 2.7% + $0.30 per transaction) is charged to sellers, not buyers.

No. Cancelling (leaving) a recurring membership stops all future charges for that whop. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for — the dialog shows the exact "access until" date before you confirm. Cancel a few days ahead of renewal rather than at the last minute, since some buyers report a renewal charge slipping through when they cancel right at the cutoff.

No — leaving a membership only stops future billing; it does not refund the current period. Refunds are a separate request: profile photo > Orders > find the charge > [...] > Request Refund, then explain your case in Whop's Resolution Center. The seller decides, and they can deny it, so include details and evidence. Whop says you'll get a decision within about a week.

It's the same path but faster: open the whop, click the community name, choose Manage membership, then Leave. Free and one-time memberships leave immediately without the reason survey or discount offer — those retention screens only appear for paid, recurring memberships.

The cancel control lives inside each individual whop, not in a global account-settings page — that trips a lot of people up. Open the specific community you joined, click its name at the top of the middle panel to open the menu, and choose Manage membership > Leave. If the community isn't in your sidebar, use the alternate route: click your profile photo > Orders, find the membership under Billing history, and cancel it from there — the same page you'd use to request a refund. If you joined on the iPhone app via Apple billing, you cancel through Apple's Settings > Subscriptions instead.

Leaving every paid membership stops all billing, which is what most people actually want. Closing the account itself is a separate action and the in-app flow can be awkward (some users find it loops them back toward joining another whop). If you want the account fully deleted after cancelling your memberships, contact Whop support (support@whop.com or the in-app live chat) and request account deletion directly.
