A 10-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.
Cancel on the platform that bills you. On web, open x.com/settings/subscription and cancel there. On iPhone, open Premium → tap your plan's Manage → Cancel Subscription (Apple may finish the cancel). Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal — X keeps Premium features (and any blue checkmark) until the end of the paid term and does not refund the current period.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.

See X Premium's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. X Premium ranks #186 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
X Premium is sold on web, iOS, and Android, and you can only cancel on the platform that originally charged you. Check a recent bank or App Store receipt: a card charge from X means web billing; an Apple or Google charge means you must cancel through that store. If Premium settings say you must be logged in from the device where you bought it, you are on the wrong surface — switch to that device or store.
Sign in at x.com, then go to x.com/settings/subscription (also reachable from Settings and privacy → your Premium / subscription controls, or from Premium in the left nav). You should see your active Basic, Premium, or Premium+ plan and the controls to manage or cancel it — not only the upgrade purchase page.
Choose Cancel (or the equivalent manage-and-cancel control) and confirm. Your Premium features stay active until the end of the current billing cycle. Do not confuse this with Downgrade — a downgrade keeps you on a paid tier through the cycle, then switches plans; it is not a full cancel back to free.
In the X iOS app, open the side menu (or profile menu) and tap Premium. You'll land on the Premium screen for your account. Scroll past Customization and Upgrade to unlock until you see your current plan row at the bottom — for example Premium Basic with Manage on the right.
Tap Manage next to your plan. The Manage subscription page shows the tier name (for example Basic) with an Active badge. Tap Cancel Subscription. If Manage your current subscription says to review terms from your Apple iTunes account, that row opens Apple's subscription manager — use it when Cancel Subscription alone does not finish the cancel.
When billing is through Apple, complete Cancel Subscription in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → X (or Twitter) if the app hands you off. Confirm the subscription shows an expiration date instead of a renewal date. Apple — not X — handles App Store refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
After canceling, Premium features continue until the end of the period you already paid for. If you had Premium or Premium+ with a blue checkmark, the checkmark also remains until that term ends (unless X removes it for suspension or policy reasons). Basic never includes a checkmark. Watch one more statement cycle to confirm no new charge posts.
Cancel in the Play Store, not only inside X: open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions (or Play Store app → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions), select X / Twitter Premium, and cancel. Google handles Play refunds and cancellations directly — X's help center sends app-billing issues to Google.
Deactivating X does not cancel Premium purchased in the iOS or Android apps — those keep billing until you cancel on Apple or Google. Web (x.com) subscriptions do auto-cancel after deactivation, but deactivation also starts a 30-day path toward deleting the account. Cancel the subscription first; only deactivate if you actually want the account gone.
To cancel a gifted subscription, message @Premium on X or use x.com/settings/subscription. For an unauthorized subscription someone else put on your account, cancel it, change your password, and tighten security settings. If @Premium replies with the DM chatbot, treat it as unreliable — X says the bot can be wrong and does not issue refunds through it.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
