Quick answer

Cancel on the same platform you bought from. If you subscribed on Calm.com, open Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription and tap Cancel Plan (on the website it reads Cancel Subscription). If Apple or Google bills you, cancel in their subscription settings instead. You keep Premium until the period ends — but deleting the app does not cancel it, and canceling does not auto-refund.

Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? the price you used to pay vs the price you pay now.

See Calm's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Calm ranks #61 of 117 by cancellation difficulty.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Check where you bought Calm first

How you cancel depends entirely on who bills you — Calm.com, Apple, or Google Play. Check your purchase confirmation email, or look at the Manage Subscription screen. You must cancel on that same platform; canceling somewhere else will not stop the charge.

2

Open Settings, then Manage Subscription

In the Calm app, tap Profile (bottom right), open Settings, then tap Manage Subscription. On the web, click your profile icon in the top-right corner and choose Settings, then Manage Subscription.

3

Tap Cancel Plan

The Manage Subscription screen shows your plan, its length, and the renewal date. Tap the Cancel Plan link (it reads Cancel Subscription on the website) and follow the prompts. Leave the Upgrade to Family Plan card alone — it is a cross-sell, not a cancel.

4

Confirm the cancellation

Follow the prompts to confirm. Calm shows the date your access ends — you keep Premium until then, then revert to the free content. If tapping Manage Subscription bounced you out to Apple's or Google's subscription page instead, your plan is billed by them, so finish the cancellation there (see the steps below).

5

Verify it will not renew

Recheck Manage Subscription — or your Apple or Google subscriptions — and confirm it shows the plan ending on your renewal date rather than renewing. Calm notes that if you were billed after canceling, you should check your provider's purchase history to confirm the cancellation date.

If this applies to you

If Apple bills you (iPhone or iPad)

Open your iPhone or iPad Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Calm, then Cancel Subscription. Apple manages all in-app billing — Calm cannot cancel or refund an Apple subscription. The Calm app's Manage Subscription link deep-links you to this same page.

If Google Play bills you (Android)

Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Calm, then Cancel subscription. Or tap Manage Subscription inside the Calm app to be redirected to Google Play.

Family Plan: only the Admin can cancel, on the web

A Calm Premium Family Plan can only be canceled by the Family Admin through Calm's website — Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription → Manage Members — not in the app. Removing a member instead reverts just that person to the free version immediately.

Request a refund separately, within 30 days

Canceling stops the next renewal but does not refund you. For Calm.com purchases, submit the Refund Request Form within 30 days of purchase (processed in 5–10 business days). For Google Play, contact Calm support; for Apple, request the refund from Apple directly. Lifetime memberships, gift cards, Family Plans, and Enterprise plans are not refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — once you cancel, Calm stops the next renewal and you keep Premium until the end of your current billing period, then drop to the free content. Two catches: canceling does not refund a charge you already paid, and deleting the app does not count as canceling. Make sure you canceled on the platform that actually bills you (Calm.com, Apple, or Google), then check that platform's purchase history to confirm.

Sometimes. For subscriptions bought on Calm.com or Google Play, you can request a refund within 30 days of purchase — Calm.com via its Refund Request Form, Google Play via Calm support — and refunds are full only (no partials), landing in 5–10 business days. Apple purchases are refunded by Apple directly; Calm cannot reverse them. Lifetime memberships, gift cards, Family Plans, and Enterprise plans are not refundable at all. EU and UK buyers may have stronger statutory withdrawal rights.

Nothing is deleted. Canceling just drops you to Calm's free tier — your account, history, streaks, and favorites stay put, and you lose access to Premium content only. If you resubscribe later, everything is still there. Your data is removed only if you separately delete your Calm account.

Cancel on whichever store bills you. Apple: iPhone or iPad Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Calm → Cancel Subscription. Google: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Calm → Cancel subscription. Canceling inside the Calm app or on Calm.com will not stop a subscription that Apple or Google is billing.

No. Uninstalling the app does nothing to your billing — the subscription keeps auto-renewing in the background, and people are regularly surprised by a full-year charge after deleting it. You have to cancel through the platform that bills you (Calm.com, Apple, or Google Play) before removing the app.

Yes. Cancel any time before the trial end date shown on your Manage Subscription screen and you will not be charged, while keeping access until the trial ends. Cancel on the same platform you started the trial on. If you forget and get charged, request a refund within 30 days (Calm.com and Google Play) or through Apple for App Store trials.
