A 12-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.
Sign in at coda.io (or docs.superhuman.com), open Workspace settings → Billing, click Change plan, hit Downgrade under Free, then Downgrade anyway and confirm. Canceling is a downgrade to Free — you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.

See Coda's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Coda ranks #15 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
Canceling Coda (now Superhuman Docs) means downgrading the workspace to Free — not deleting it. After Free takes effect you get a 14-day grace period to strip paid-only items (locking, paid Packs, custom icons). If you miss that window, oversized or Pack-locked docs can go read-only and stay stuck until support helps. Also cancel any separate Pack subscriptions under Workspace settings → Packs; those do not stop when you leave Pro or Business.
Sign in at coda.io or docs.superhuman.com, select the paid workspace, then open Workspace settings (gear) and the Billing tab. You should see your current plan (for example Pro), billing email, payment methods, and invoice history. Newer Superhuman Docs UI may label this Admin settings → Workspace plan under Billing — same hub.
Next to your plan name, click Change plan (help docs may say Compare plans). Coda opens the Plans page with a Maker Billing explainer: you only pay for Doc Makers; Editors and Viewers stay free.
Scroll to the Pricing plans cards. Under Free, click the Downgrade button. Do not click Continue on your current paid plan or Upgrade on a higher tier. Enterprise is sales-led — Free is the self-serve cancel path.
The Are you sure? screen compares your current plan to Free and lists what you lose (docs that may become read-only, lower automation quota, Packs disabled or quota-cut). Under Yes, I'm sure, click Downgrade anyway. Contact support and View plans are exits off the cancel path.
Coda shows We're sorry to see you downgrade with reasons like cost, features, or Something else. Pick one (or type a short note under Something else). A peach warning reminds you how many docs may become read-only and that you lose Pro features after the period ends.
With a reason selected, click Downgrade. The button may briefly show Processing…. That schedules the workspace onto Free at the end of the current billing cycle — it does not wipe the workspace.
Return to the workspace home — a yellow Free plan badge should appear next to the workspace name once the downgrade is complete (or after the scheduled date). Until then, Billing should show the day paid access ends. You can reverse a pending Free downgrade with Cancel downgrade on the Workspace plan / Billing page.
If Change plan / Compare plans sends you to Superhuman instead of the Docs pricing cards, the workspace is linked to a Superhuman suite bundle. Docs self-serve downgrade does not apply — cancel or change the plan in the Superhuman Admin Hub (settings.superhuman.com/billing or the Subscription page help links to). That path is separate from Superhuman Mail alone.
Third-party or paid Packs bill on their own line. Open Workspace settings → Packs (not only Billing) and cancel each Pack subscription there. Removing a Pack from one doc does not always stop the Pack charge.
Use the 14-day grace to remove paid Packs and other paid-only features while you can still edit. Past the grace period, a doc can lock as View only with Upgrade to restore access — and you may need the ? help widget (or support) to unlock removal. Prefer fixing Packs before the Free date lands.
Enterprise workspaces are not self-serve Free cancels — contact your account team or Docs support. Downgrading from Team/Business to Pro (not all the way to Free) may also prompt you to contact support instead of finishing in the UI.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
