A 11-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.
Sign in at zapier.com/app/settings/billing, click Change plan, select Free, then Downgrade → skip the survey → confirm Downgrade plan. There is no separate Cancel button. You keep paid features until the end of the billing cycle — Zapier does not refund partial periods.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.

See Zapier's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Zapier ranks #33 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
Sign in and go to zapier.com/app/settings/billing (Settings → Billing and usage). The Subscription tab shows your current plan, included tasks, and any pay-per-task usage. Canceling a paid Zapier plan means selecting Free — Zapier does not show a separate Cancel button.
On the Your plan card, click Change plan. That opens the Select your plan and task tier screen with Free, Professional, and Team cards plus a subscription summary on the right.
Click the Free plan card so it highlights, then click the purple Downgrade button in the Your new subscription sidebar. The sidebar should show Free with 100 tasks and a $0 total before you continue.
Zapier shows Downgrade to Free with Why are you changing plans? Eight optional reasons range from "I only needed Zapier temporarily" to "I'm downgrading for another reason." Click Skip survey to continue without answering, or pick a reason if you want.
If you chose a reason, Zapier asks Tell us more about your situation and Any other feedback for us? Both fields are optional. Click Share feedback and continue — or use Cancel downgrade only if you want to keep the paid plan.
The Review plan changes page states the exact date your plan becomes Free and that you keep current features until then. It also warns that pay-per-task overages in this final cycle can still bill, and lists paid features you will lose (including Multi-step Zaps and Premium apps). Click Downgrade plan to finish.
Billing and usage should show a green confirmation that your paid subscription is canceled, plus a Pending downgrade box with the Free switch date. You can keep using paid features until that date. If you change your mind before then, click Cancel downgrade on this page.
Downgrading Platform Zaps to Free does not cancel Zapier Agents, Chatbots, or other add-ons. On Billing and usage, click Manage next to each paid add-on, select that add-on's Free plan, and confirm. Otherwise those line items keep renewing on their own.
When Free takes effect, Zapier turns off workflows with more than one action step and holds runs that use premium apps. Before the Pending downgrade date, export or rebuild critical automations, or move them to another tool, so nothing silent-fails on the switch day.
Only an account owner/admin can downgrade a multi-user plan. Moving from Team or Enterprise to Free disconnects shared app connections and drops team-only features (shared workspaces, app access policies). Members who need the Zaps should copy assets to their own accounts first.
New-user 14-day trials often need no payment method and drop to Free automatically. A 7-day re-trial that collected a card auto-upgrades to paid unless you downgrade to Free (or set Trial settings to Downgrade to the Free plan) before it ends. To remove a saved card after canceling, contact Zapier Support — self-serve removal is not always available.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
