A 11-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.
Sign in at cvs.com/extracare/plus/cancel-start (or open Manage membership in the CVS app and tap Cancel ExtraCare Plus membership), finish the SMS and date-of-birth checks, then wait for Processing request. You keep Plus benefits until the end of the current cycle — CVS does not refund fees after a charge posts, and you cannot cancel in store. Cancel at least three days before renewal.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.
Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? the price you used to pay vs the price you pay now.
See CVS ExtraCare Plus's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. CVS ExtraCare Plus ranks #8 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
ExtraCare Plus loads a monthly $10 bonus reward to your ExtraCare account (use-it-or-lose-it; it expires at the end of the benefit month). Before you cancel, check Account for any available balance and redeem it in the app or at CVS.com — canceling stops future renewals, but an unused bonus still expires on its stated date.
In the CVS Pharmacy app, open ExtraCare / membership settings until you reach Manage membership. You should see your plan (Monthly membership at $5 a month, or annual), payment method, and a Want to cancel your ExtraCare Plus membership? card. On the web, start at cvs.com/extracare/plus/cancel-start — CVS may route you through a login that still mentions the old CarePass path (`/carepass/cancelSubscription`).
Skip Switch to annual plan — that is an upsell to the $48/year plan, not cancellation. Tap the blue Cancel ExtraCare Plus membership link. If the app opens a browser sheet, stay signed into the same CVS.com account that holds the membership.
If you are not already authenticated, CVS shows the Account sign-in screen. Tap Sign in (or Create an account only if you somehow enrolled without a CVS.com login — you still need the account linked to ExtraCare to finish cancel).
CVS asks Just need to confirm it's you and offers to text a code to the phone number on file. Tap Send passcode. The code expires 30 minutes after it is sent.
On Enter the passcode we sent to…, type the code from the text message and tap Confirm passcode. Use Resend passcode only if the first message never arrives.
Next, CVS shows Enter date of birth — “If you’re helping someone else, enter their date of birth.” Fill Month / Day / Year for the ExtraCare account holder and tap Verify date of birth.
You should see Processing request / This may take a little time. Do not close the tab. When it finishes, note the date Plus benefits end (you keep delivery, 20% off CVS Health® brand, the Pharmacist Helpline, and similar perks until that cycle ends). CVS will not refund a fee that already posted.
Phone cancel is an official path: 1-800-SHOP-CVS (1-800-746-7287), TTY 711 — Monday–Friday 9 AM–10 PM ET, Saturday–Sunday 10 AM–6 PM ET (except major holidays). Ask them to cancel ExtraCare Plus, confirm the last benefit date, and that no further renewals will charge. Keep the call reference until that statement clears.
ExtraCare Plus is the current name for what CVS previously marketed as CarePass. Cancel links still use `/carepass/cancelSubscription`, and older packaging or bank descriptors may still say CarePass. Cancel through the ExtraCare Plus / CarePass membership tools — not by deleting the app or ignoring the charge.
If a pin-pad enrollment added ExtraCare Plus without a clear yes from you, run the online cancel flow the same day (or call 1-800-746-7287). Official policy still says no refunds after a recurring charge processes and no in-store refunds — so speed matters before the next renewal, and billing disputes with CVS or your bank are case-by-case after a charge posts.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
