Quick answer

Sign in at cvs.com/extracare/plus/cancel-start (or open Manage membership in the CVS app and tap Cancel ExtraCare Plus membership), finish the SMS and date-of-birth checks, then wait for Processing request. You keep Plus benefits until the end of the current cycle — CVS does not refund fees after a charge posts, and you cannot cancel in store. Cancel at least three days before renewal.

CVS ExtraCare Plus was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Spend your $10 bonus before you leave

ExtraCare Plus loads a monthly $10 bonus reward to your ExtraCare account (use-it-or-lose-it; it expires at the end of the benefit month). Before you cancel, check Account for any available balance and redeem it in the app or at CVS.com — canceling stops future renewals, but an unused bonus still expires on its stated date.

2

Open Manage membership

In the CVS Pharmacy app, open ExtraCare / membership settings until you reach Manage membership. You should see your plan (Monthly membership at $5 a month, or annual), payment method, and a Want to cancel your ExtraCare Plus membership? card. On the web, start at cvs.com/extracare/plus/cancel-start — CVS may route you through a login that still mentions the old CarePass path (`/carepass/cancelSubscription`).

3

Tap Cancel ExtraCare Plus membership

Skip Switch to annual plan — that is an upsell to the $48/year plan, not cancellation. Tap the blue Cancel ExtraCare Plus membership link. If the app opens a browser sheet, stay signed into the same CVS.com account that holds the membership.

4

Sign in to your CVS.com account

If you are not already authenticated, CVS shows the Account sign-in screen. Tap Sign in (or Create an account only if you somehow enrolled without a CVS.com login — you still need the account linked to ExtraCare to finish cancel).

5

Send the SMS passcode

CVS asks Just need to confirm it's you and offers to text a code to the phone number on file. Tap Send passcode. The code expires 30 minutes after it is sent.

Enter the passcode

On Enter the passcode we sent to…, type the code from the text message and tap Confirm passcode. Use Resend passcode only if the first message never arrives.

Verify your date of birth

Next, CVS shows Enter date of birth — “If you’re helping someone else, enter their date of birth.” Fill Month / Day / Year for the ExtraCare account holder and tap Verify date of birth.

Wait for Processing request — then confirm the end date

You should see Processing request / This may take a little time. Do not close the tab. When it finishes, note the date Plus benefits end (you keep delivery, 20% off CVS Health® brand, the Pharmacist Helpline, and similar perks until that cycle ends). CVS will not refund a fee that already posted.

If this applies to you

If the site loops, call 1-800-746-7287

Phone cancel is an official path: 1-800-SHOP-CVS (1-800-746-7287), TTY 711 — Monday–Friday 9 AM–10 PM ET, Saturday–Sunday 10 AM–6 PM ET (except major holidays). Ask them to cancel ExtraCare Plus, confirm the last benefit date, and that no further renewals will charge. Keep the call reference until that statement clears.

Saw “CarePass” on a statement or URL? Same membership

ExtraCare Plus is the current name for what CVS previously marketed as CarePass. Cancel links still use `/carepass/cancelSubscription`, and older packaging or bank descriptors may still say CarePass. Cancel through the ExtraCare Plus / CarePass membership tools — not by deleting the app or ignoring the charge.

Signed up at the register without agreeing? Cancel immediately

If a pin-pad enrollment added ExtraCare Plus without a clear yes from you, run the online cancel flow the same day (or call 1-800-746-7287). Official policy still says no refunds after a recurring charge processes and no in-store refunds — so speed matters before the next renewal, and billing disputes with CVS or your bank are case-by-case after a charge posts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not for a new renewal period if the cancel completed in time. CVS’s terms say membership automatically renews unless you cancel at least three days before the renewal date; the overview FAQ also says you can cancel online anytime or call no later than three days before renewal. After you cancel, you keep Plus benefits until the end of the current benefit cycle — then billing should stop. Watch the payment card on file around the old renewal date.

CVS’s published FAQ and ExtraCare Plus terms say there are no refunds for monthly or annual membership fees after the recurring charge is processed, and no refunds for cancelation during the initial month of membership. Canceling is not a prorated cash-back. ExtraCare Plus memberships also cannot be canceled or refunded in store. ExtraCare Plus is a US retail membership; there is no documented EU/UK 14-day withdrawal path on CVS’s ExtraCare Plus terms.

Paid ExtraCare Plus perks (free same-day delivery / shipping on qualifying $10+ orders, free Rx delivery where available, 20% off eligible CVS Health® brand items, 24/7 Pharmacist Helpline, and the monthly $10 bonus reward) continue until the end of your benefit cycle, then stop. Free ExtraCare® loyalty rewards and your ExtraCare card stay — canceling Plus is not the same as closing free ExtraCare. Use any remaining $10 bonus before it expires; unused remainder is not refunded as cash.

You almost certainly did not — ExtraCare Plus bills a credit or debit card on your CVS ExtraCare / CVS.com account, not an App Store or Google Play subscription. There is nothing to cancel under iPhone Settings → Subscriptions or Google Play → Subscriptions for ExtraCare Plus. Use cvs.com/extracare/plus/cancel-start, the app’s Cancel ExtraCare Plus membership link, or call 1-800-746-7287.

Yes — and you should before the promo ends. CVS has offered a first-month-free promo for new monthly enrollments in store (not always online), and terms say a discounted trial converts to full price unless you cancel no later than three days before the trial expires. The cancel flow is the same as a paid cancel. Once a regular recurring charge posts, CVS’s stated policy is no refund.

Yes. After Plus ends (or once CVS lets your account enroll again), upgrade from ExtraCare on cvs.com/extracare/overview or in store. Standard consumer pricing is $5/month or $48/year plus tax. Free ExtraCare should still be on the same card/account, so you are re-adding the paid tier rather than starting loyalty from scratch. Sponsored / employer ExtraCare Plus plans follow your sponsor’s eligibility rules instead of the consumer fee.
