How to Cancel ElevenLabs

A 7-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.

Quick answer

In ElevenLabs open Subscription → Manage subscription, click Cancel Plan, then click Proceed past the feature-loss warning, (optionally) pick a reason and Continue, and finally decline the discount with Cancel Subscription. Your plan keeps working until the end of the current billing period, then drops to Free. Spend your remaining credits first — they're forfeited on cancel, and ElevenLabs doesn't refund mid-cycle.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Spend your remaining credits before you cancel

ElevenLabs forfeits any unused credits when you cancel — the cancel flow even quantifies what you'd lose ("you have 44,672 credits remaining, that's ~45 mins of generated audio"). If you have credits left this period, generate what you need before starting the cancellation. There are no prorated refunds, so the credits are the only value left to recover.

2

Open Subscription, then Manage subscription

Open your workspace, go to Subscription, and click Manage subscription to open the Billing modal. It shows your plan ("This workspace's Creator Plan is set to $22 per month and will renew on [date]"), credits remaining, plan cost, next billing date, and a Modify Plan row with Downgrade and Cancel Plan.

3

Click Cancel Plan, then Proceed past the warning

Click Cancel Plan. An "Are you sure you want to cancel?" screen lists the features you'll lose at the end of the period — unused credit roll over, professional voice cloning, AudioNative website narration, and high-quality API audio. Click Proceed to continue.

If this applies to you

Pick a reason (optional), then Continue

A "Finally, let us know why you're cancelling" survey offers checkboxes (Price too high, Low usage, I found a better alternative, and others) plus a free-text box. None of it is required — you can leave it blank. Click Continue.

5

Decline the discount — click Cancel Subscription

ElevenLabs makes a final save offer — "One time offer before you go!" — usually 30% off your next month (for example, $22 down to $15.40). To finish canceling, click Cancel Subscription. Click Accept offer only if you actually want to stay at the discounted rate.

6

Verify the "cancelled, will end on…" state

Back in the Billing modal, it now reads "This workspace's Creator Plan is cancelled and will end on [date]" with a Resume subscription button. That's your confirmation the cancellation registered — your plan keeps working until that date, then drops to the Free tier.

If this applies to you

If you subscribed through the iOS or Android app

If you bought your plan in the ElevenLabs mobile app, Apple or Google handles the billing and the web Cancel Plan flow above may not apply. Cancel through Apple (Settings > your name > Subscriptions) or Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions), and request any refund through that store.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — once you cancel, ElevenLabs won't bill you again. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and the Billing modal shows "cancelled and will end on [date]" so you know exactly when access stops. There are no prorated refunds for the remaining days, so cancel any time before your renewal date and you keep full access until then.

Usually not. ElevenLabs doesn't refund subscription fees for canceling mid-cycle, and unused credits are forfeited. The one exception is a narrow 14-day window: you're eligible for a refund only if you request it within 14 days of the payment AND you haven't used any credit quota in that period. Generate even one clip and that window closes. EU/UK consumers may have additional statutory withdrawal rights.

On the cancellation date your plan drops to Free (10,000 credits a month) and any unused paid credits are forfeited — they don't carry over past cancellation. Audio you've already generated and downloaded is yours to keep. Cloned voices and projects that exceed the Free tier's limits may become locked until you're back on a paid plan. Spend your credits before the end date to avoid losing them.

If you subscribed in the ElevenLabs mobile app, the store that billed you handles cancellation. On iPhone or iPad: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > ElevenLabs > Cancel Subscription. On Android: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Refund requests also go through Apple or Google, not ElevenLabs. If you subscribed on the website, use the in-app Subscription > Manage subscription flow instead.

Yes. The Billing modal has a Downgrade option (move to a cheaper paid tier, like Creator → Starter) and a Switch to yearly button (yearly billing is "2 months free", so Creator drops from $22/month to about $18.33/month billed annually). Downgrading still bills you at the lower tier — it's not the same as canceling — but it keeps more features than dropping to Free.

Yes. While your plan is still in its run-out period, the Billing modal shows a Resume subscription button that reverses the cancellation in one click and keeps your current plan and credits. After the end date you drop to Free, but you can re-subscribe any time from Subscription — your account, voices, and history stay intact.
