Check the six-month rule if Etsy Plus came with your new shop

If you subscribed during shop set-up to get your set-up fee back, Etsy's New Seller Onboarding Fee Promotion only pays that credit if you keep Etsy Plus for at least six consecutive months from the day the shop was created. Cancel earlier and you get no credit. If you want it, wait until the six months have passed before you cancel; the credit then lands on your next monthly statement. The offer is not available in Austria, Germany, India or the Netherlands.

Open Your subscription in Shop Manager

Sign in on Etsy.com in a browser, go to Shop Manager, select Settings, then Your subscription. You can also go straight to etsy.com/your/shops/me/your-subscription. This is the only cancel path Etsy documents, so use it rather than hunting through the app.

Click Cancel my subscription

The page shows your current plan and your next billing date, with a cancel button beside them. Etsy's help center doesn't name the button; sellers consistently report it reads Cancel my subscription. Click it and confirm if Etsy asks. Etsy documents no survey or counter-offer for Etsy Plus, so this should take one or two clicks.

Note your final day of access

Canceling doesn't switch Etsy Plus off right away. Etsy keeps it running until the end of the current subscription cycle and shows your final day of access on the Your subscription page. After that day your shop returns to Etsy Standard and no more subscription fees are added to your payment account.

Use this cycle's credits before that day

Each cycle gives you 15 listing credits (shown as $3 in your payment account) and $5 of Etsy Ads credit. Etsy says unused credits expire at the end of the cycle and never roll over, and Etsy Standard comes with none. Publish or renew listings and spend the ad credit before your final day, because every listing or renewal after that costs $0.20.

Save your Etsy Plus shop images

At the end of the cycle, Etsy removes Plus-only customization: carousel and collage banners, the mixed-grid featured area and your custom color theme revert to the standard options. Etsy says images uploaded for these layouts are not saved if you ever subscribe again, so download any banner images you want to keep before your final day.

Check your next payment account statement

The Etsy Plus fee comes out of your payment account balance and is listed under Marketing. If your balance can't cover your fees, Etsy can charge the card on file instead, so check both. Outside the US the $10 is converted to your local currency and may include sales tax, VAT or GST. After your final day, no new Etsy Plus line should appear.

If the page shows Renew my subscription and no cancel button

In March 2026 one seller found Your subscription showing an active plan and next billing date, but with a Renew my subscription button where the cancel button should be. Etsy Support canceled Etsy Plus from its side over chat, after asking three account-verification questions, and refunded the latest $10 fee. If you see the same screen, use Contact support in the Etsy Help Center.

Vacation Mode and closing your shop don't cancel Etsy Plus

Etsy's Vacation Mode page says the Etsy Plus fee keeps running while your shop is on vacation. Etsy's instructions for closing a shop don't mention Etsy Plus at all, and you have to pay any outstanding balance before you can close. If you're leaving Etsy, cancel Etsy Plus first, confirm the final day, then close the shop.

Pattern and Etsy Insider are separate

Canceling Etsy Plus doesn't touch Pattern, Etsy's $15/month website builder, which you cancel under Shop Manager → Sales Channels → Pattern → Settings (see our Pattern by Etsy cancel guide). Etsy Insider is a buyer membership, not a seller subscription, and has nothing to do with your shop's plan.

Not for new cycles. Etsy keeps your subscription running until the end of the current cycle, shows the final day on the Your subscription page, and then stops adding the fee. The fee that was already added for the current cycle stays, and if your payment account is negative, Etsy can still collect fees you already owe from the card on file. Check your statement after the final day to confirm no new Etsy Plus line appears.

Officially, no. Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy says all service fees, including prepaid fees, are non-refundable, and there is no prorated refund for the rest of the month. The UK version of the policy has the same wording and no cooling-off exception. In practice, two sellers reported on Reddit in 2026 that Etsy Support refunded their latest $10 fee, one who never meant to subscribe and one who couldn't find the cancel button. It is worth asking, but it isn't guaranteed.

Your shop stays open on Etsy Standard, which has no subscription fee. Unused listing credits and Etsy Ads credit expire at the end of the cycle. Plus-only banners, the mixed-grid featured area and the custom color theme revert to standard options, and their images are not kept. Restock requests are an Etsy Plus feature, and Etsy doesn't say what happens to shopper sign-ups you have already collected. Marketplace Insights drops from unlimited searches to 15 keyword searches a week.

Often it's the new-shop offer. During shop set-up, Etsy offers new sellers a credit for the one-time set-up fee if they subscribe to Etsy Plus and keep it for six consecutive months, and the subscription renews monthly at $10 until you cancel it. Etsy says no. Its Seller Handbook article on how Etsy search works states that subscribing to Etsy Plus does not influence where listings appear in search. Some sellers report their views dropping after they unsubscribed, but Etsy's own guidance gives no reason to expect it. Look at other causes first: expired listings, seasonality, or the $5 monthly Etsy Ads credit ending, which shrinks your ad spend unless you top it up yourself.

Yes. Go to Shop Manager → Settings → Your subscription, select Upgrade under Etsy Plus, then Confirm. You pay $10 a month again and get fresh credits each cycle, but you will need to re-upload any advanced customization images, because Etsy doesn't keep them. The set-up fee offer is for new shops only, so resubscribing doesn't make you eligible for it.
