A 12-step walkthrough from the live cancel flow.
Sign in at goodrx.com, open the profile menu in the top right, click Account, select Companion Membership, then Cancel my Companion Membership and confirm with Continue cancellation. Cancel at least one day before your renewal date — Companion fees are non-refundable unless you live in one of 30 named states and you are still inside your first 30 days. Paying $9.99 or $19.99 instead? You are on the legacy product — use the GoodRx Gold cancellation guide.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.
Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? how this compares to other subscriptions.
See GoodRx Companion's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. GoodRx Companion ranks #3 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
GoodRx bills two different memberships right now, and they cancel in different places. Companion costs $14.99 a month or $119.88 a year and is what everyone signing up since May 2026 gets. Gold costs $9.99 for Individual or $19.99 for Family and survives only for people who joined before that. Check the amount on your card statement first, because following the wrong guide sends you hunting for a button that is not there.
The Companion Terms of Service make membership fees non-refundable, then carve out one exception. Residents of 30 states can cancel within 30 days of first enrolling and get every fee back: Texas, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina, Indiana, Missouri, Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, Mississippi, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Arkansas, Iowa, Utah, Nebraska, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Delaware, West Virginia, Montana, South Dakota, Rhode Island, Alaska, North Dakota, and Vermont. Everywhere else, the money is simply gone.
GoodRx requires cancellation at least one full day before your Membership Cycle renewal date to stop the next charge. A monthly cycle runs one month and an annual cycle runs one year. Your renewal date sits on the Companion Membership page you are about to open, so check it there before you click anything. Cancel on the renewal date itself and you are billed for another full cycle.
Because fees are non-refundable in most states, an unused cycle is money burned. Log in, open your Dashboard, and the dental, vision, lab and imaging benefits appear on the right — clicking one opens the benefits portal. A $19 online care visit is available seven days a week, and any prescription you fill at a participating pharmacy before your end date still gets Companion pricing. Redeem any banked GoodRx Rewards points for gift cards while you are in there too: Companion members do not earn new points, but points you already hold stay redeemable.
Sign in to your GoodRx account in a web browser, click the profile menu in the upper right corner, then click Account. Cancellation is a browser job — GoodRx publishes no in-app cancel path for Companion, and eleven Companion help articles between them never mention one.
On the Account page, choose Companion Membership. This is the page showing your current plan, your renewal date, and the payment method on file. If you find a Gold Membership entry here instead of a Companion one, you are on the legacy product and the rest of these steps will not match your screen.
Click the "Cancel my Companion Membership" link, then confirm on the screen that follows by clicking "Continue cancellation". That second click is the one that actually ends the membership. Stopping at the first screen leaves you subscribed and still billing.
Once confirmed, the Companion Membership page should stop advertising a future renewal date and instead show the date your benefits end. Write that date down. If the page still shows a renewal date and a price, the cancellation did not register and you need to run through it again.
Cancelling Companion does not remove you from GoodRx. Companion is a premium layer sitting on top of the free coupon service, so afterwards you carry on searching drug prices and showing free GoodRx coupons at the pharmacy counter. What you lose is the Companion-only pricing, the $19 online care visits, and the dental, vision, lab and imaging discounts. Price your actual prescriptions both ways before you cancel — for plenty of medications the free coupon price lands close to the Companion price anyway.
This runs backwards from most subscriptions, so it catches people out. Cancel during a paid cycle and your benefits continue to the end of that cycle. Cancel during the free trial and the Terms terminate your access on the day you cancel. Since you also have to cancel at least one day before the trial converts, the practical sweet spot is day five or six of the seven: late enough to have actually used the trial, early enough to clear the deadline.
On the $119.88 annual plan, cancelling after the refund window stops the next renewal but pays back none of the current year. GoodRx states plainly that no prorated or other refund is provided for fees already paid, while access continues until the cancellation takes effect. So there is no reason to stop using the benefits once you have cancelled — set the cancellation to protect next year, then keep filling prescriptions until the term genuinely ends.
GoodRx publishes two backup channels covering both Companion and Gold. Call (855) 268-2822, open 6am to 9pm CST seven days a week. Or email support@goodrx.com with the subject line "Subscription Cancellation Request" — GoodRx requires your full name, which subscription you are cancelling, your subscription Member ID, and the email address connected to the account. Send an email well ahead of your renewal date, since it joins a queue rather than cancelling on the spot.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
