Quick answer

In Lovable open Settings → Plans & credit usage → Manage → Downgrade to Free, skip the Switch to Lite offer and the reason survey, click Continue downgrade past the "Before you go" video, then click Confirm downgrade. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then drops to Free — Lovable doesn't refund partial periods. Spend or note your credits first: they're non-refundable and get frozen the moment you're on Free.

Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? the price you used to pay vs the price you pay now.

See Lovable's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Lovable ranks #16 of 101 by cancellation difficulty.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Spend or note your remaining credits first

Open Settings → Plans & credit usage. The Plans & credits screen shows your plan ("You're on Pro Plan"), the renewal date, and your Credits remaining. Lovable doesn't refund credits, and the moment you land on Free your unused paid credits are frozen — so use anything you need now, before you start the downgrade.

Lovable "Plans & credits" screen with a "You're on Pro Plan" card, a Renews date, a Manage button, and a "Credits remaining" bar reading 105 of 105 with "Up to 100 credits rollover" and "Daily credits used first"
2

Click Manage, then Downgrade to Free

On the Plans & credits screen click Manage to open "Manage plan". Next to "You're on Pro Plan" click Downgrade to free. There is no separate "Cancel" button in Lovable — downgrading to Free is the cancel path.

Skip the Switch to Lite offer

Lovable offers a cheaper "Switch to Lite" plan ($5/month) that keeps custom domains and removes the Lovable badge. To keep canceling, ignore the blue Switch to Lite button and click Downgrade plan at the bottom.

4

Skip the downgrade reason survey

A "Why are you downgrading?" survey appears with radio options (too many technical issues, too expensive, not using Lovable enough, missing features, switched to a competitor, other) and a "Tell us more" box. None of it is required. You can pick a reason or leave it blank — then click Downgrade plan.

5

Continue past the "Before you go" video

A "Before you go…" screen plays a short video urging you to keep your project going, with a blue Keep Lovable Pro button. To finish canceling, click Continue downgrade underneath it.

6

Confirm the downgrade

A "Continue downgrading?" screen lists exactly what changes: a Lovable badge returns to new projects, you lose team management, custom domains are removed, your monthly credit limit drops, and credit rollover is disabled. Click the red Confirm downgrade to finalize.

7

Verify the downgrade is scheduled

Back on Plans & credits, an amber banner now reads "Pending changes scheduled for [date]: Pro (100 credits) → Free", the plan card switches to "Cancels [date]", and a toast confirms "Subscription canceled successfully. Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period." That banner is your proof the cancellation registered.

Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period."

Know that your credits freeze on Free — they aren't deleted

When the plan drops to Free, unexpired paid credits (monthly plan credits and rollover credits) are frozen: you can't spend them while on Free, but they're not erased. If you re-subscribe to any paid plan before they expire, they thaw and you can use them again. Top-up credits you bought and any bonus credits stay usable on Free until they expire.

Canceling is not the same as deleting your apps or workspace

Downgrading only stops billing and moves you to Free at the period end — your projects, apps, and data stay on your account under the Free caps (no custom domains, the Lovable badge returns, lower credit limits). Deleting individual apps or your whole workspace is a separate action in your workspace settings.

If you can't find the cancel option or get stuck on the Stripe page

Lovable bills through Stripe on the web — there is no Apple or Google subscription to cancel. The only cancel path is Settings → Plans & credit usage → Manage → Downgrade to Free; users report it's easy to miss because it's tucked behind "Downgrade", not labeled "Cancel". If the Stripe/Link portal doesn't show a cancel option or a charge looks wrong, contact Lovable support — their Discord tends to get a faster reply than email.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — once the downgrade is scheduled, Lovable won't bill you again. The change takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and the "Pending changes scheduled for [date]: Pro → Free" banner shows exactly when your paid plan ends. You keep full Pro access until that date, and the Cancel changes button can reverse the downgrade any time before then. There are no prorated refunds for the unused days, so downgrade any time before your renewal date.

Generally no. Lovable's pricing terms are explicit that credits "aren't refundable or redeemable for cash or any other value", and downgrading doesn't refund the rest of the period — you simply keep access until it ends. EU and UK customers may have a 14-day right of withdrawal on a new subscription. For a genuine billing error (for example a wrong-tier purchase made minutes earlier), contact Lovable support; users report the Discord gets a faster response than email, and a card chargeback is the last resort if support goes quiet.

Your apps and data stay — downgrading to Free doesn't delete anything. What changes on the end date is paid capacity: custom domains are removed, the Lovable badge returns to new projects, and your monthly credit limit drops. Any unexpired paid credits (monthly plan + rollover) are frozen on Free — not deleted — and thaw if you re-subscribe before they expire. Top-up and bonus credits stay usable on Free. Credits don't roll over once you're unsubscribed.

No. Lovable is a web product billed through Stripe, so there is no App Store or Google Play subscription to cancel. The only cancel path is in the web app: Settings → Plans & credit usage → Manage → Downgrade to Free, then walk the save-offer, survey, and confirmation screens. If a charge appears on a card you don't recognize, manage it from your Stripe receipt/portal link or contact Lovable support.

Lovable has a permanent Free plan (no credit card, a daily grant of build credits) rather than a time-limited trial — if you stay on Free there's nothing to cancel and nothing to be charged. Paid plans (Pro, Business) bill from day one, monthly or annually. To avoid the next charge after upgrading, downgrade to Free before your renewal date; you keep the paid plan until the period ends, then revert to Free.

Yes. You can re-subscribe any time from Settings → Plans & credit usage — and if your workspace still has unused paid credits that haven't expired, they reactivate when you subscribe to any plan again. Your projects and data are untouched by the downgrade, so you pick up where you left off. Before the end date, you don't even need to re-subscribe: the Cancel changes button on the Plans & credits banner reverses the scheduled downgrade outright.
