Quick answer

Freepik is now Magnific, and a Freepik plan cancels on magnific.com with your usual login. Open Plan & billing, expand Danger zone and click Cancel subscription, pick any reason, click Continue canceling twice, then type a short answer and confirm with Yes, cancel. You keep the plan until the paid period ends. The 30-day refund only covers a billing period in which you downloaded nothing and used no AI credits.

Magnific (formerly Freepik) was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1
If this applies to you

Before you cancel: choose between a refund and your leftover credits

Canceling refunds nothing on its own; it only stops the next charge. Magnific's 30-day refund covers the current billing period, and only if you have downloaded nothing from Magnific.com or Flaticon.com and used no AI credits since that payment. If you might qualify, don't generate or download anything, cancel, then request the refund (see the refund question below). If you don't qualify, spend your credits now: plan credits expire when the paid period ends, and extra credit packs are forfeited at the same point. If you turned on auto-refill for extra credits, switch it off on Plan & billing too, because Magnific's docs don't say whether canceling the plan stops it.

Sign in on magnific.com and open Plan & billing

Freepik accounts now live on magnific.com with the same email and password or the same Google or Apple login, and freepik.com redirects there. Click your profile picture and select Plan & billing. The page shows your plan, its price and your next payment date, with a collapsed Danger zone box at the bottom. Leave Change to annual billing alone: Magnific's docs say switching from monthly to annual charges the full annual price immediately.

Magnific Settings > Plan & billing page on a Premium plan at $20/month billed monthly with a next payment of Jun 28th, 2026, a Credits bar showing 19.3K spent and 608 available, Billing information and Payment details sections, and a collapsed Danger zone box reading Cancel a subscription at the bottom
3

Open Danger zone and click Cancel subscription

Click the Danger zone box to expand it. It says you keep premium features until the current billing period ends and that the action can't be undone, then lists your active subscriptions; in practice Plan & billing offers Renew subscription until the period ends. Click Cancel subscription next to your plan. Switch to a lower plan is not a cancellation: it keeps you on a cheaper plan that starts renewing at your next billing date.

Expanded Danger zone on Plan & billing with a warning that you keep premium features until the current billing period ends and that the action can't be undone, and a Your active subscriptions card for Premium - $20/month, next payment Jun 28th, 2026, with Switch to a lower plan and Cancel subscription buttons
4

Pick a reason, then click Continue canceling

A full-page "How can we help you?" screen asks why you're leaving, with nine reasons from "No longer need it" to "Other". Continue canceling stays greyed out until you pick one, so choose any reason and click it. Keep subscription, on the left, leaves your plan as it is. The screens below followed "Technical issues"; another reason may show a different screen next.

5

Skip the "Before you go" feature reminder

Magnific then shows a grid of twelve things your plan includes, such as Upscale an image, Create an AI video and Find a mockup, under "Here's a reminder of everything included in your plan". The big blue button is Keep subscription. Click the plain Continue canceling text to its right.

Magnific Before you go page with a grid of twelve plan features including Reimagine, Find a mockup, Upscale an image, Create an AI video and Create an AI illustration, a See more link, a blue Keep subscription button and a plain Continue canceling link
6

Type an answer and click Yes, cancel

The last screen, "We're sorry to see you go", says your plan won't renew and stays active until the end of your billing period. The box "What could we have done to keep you from leaving?" is required, and Yes, cancel stays grey until you type something, so a short sentence is enough. Then click Yes, cancel, not the blue Keep subscription button. The end date shows on Plan & billing once you confirm.

7

Check Plan & billing says Canceled and note the date

You're back on Plan & billing. A banner reads "Your plan ends at the end of your billing period. After that, you'll be switched to a Free plan.", and your plan shows Canceled with "Active until" and the end date. No renewal is charged after that date. Renew subscription undoes the cancellation if you click it before then.

If you subscribed in the Freepik or Magnific app

A plan bought in the iPhone or Android app is billed by Apple or Google, and Magnific says its support can't cancel or refund it. On iPhone, go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions, find Magnific and tap Cancel Subscription; the App Store still lists the in-app plans as Freepik Premium and Freepik Premium+. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, find Magnific and tap Cancel. Canceling on the website does not stop an app subscription, so if you are charged twice, check both.

If you pay for the original magnific.ai upscaler

The old magnific.ai upscaler is a separate account and subscription, which Magnific still runs for existing subscribers, and canceling on magnific.com doesn't touch it. Log in at magnific.ai, click Billing at the top of the page, and you're sent to Stripe's billing portal, where you can cancel the plan and download invoices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not for another renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then drops to the Free plan, and Plan & billing shows Canceled with the date. Magnific lists the usual reasons a charge still appears: a second subscription through the App Store or Google Play, someone else subscribing with your card, an annual plan that renews once a year, or extra credit purchases and auto-refill on Premium+, Pro and Business. If you are sure you canceled and are still charged, contact Magnific support with the payment details.

Only if you haven't used the plan. The pricing page's "30-day refund guarantee" links to a policy with four conditions: you ask within 30 days of the payment, you downloaded nothing from Magnific.com or Flaticon.com and used no AI credits in that billing period (one download or one generation rules you out), the refund covers the current billing period only, and the request comes from the email on your account. Annual plans follow the same rule, with the full annual payment refunded if eligible and no partial refunds for unused months. The same applies after a renewal you forgot to cancel. Request it at magnific.com/ai/support under Subscriptions & Payments > Request a refund > Current invoice, with the payment ID from Billing history if you can. Refunds take 5 to 10 business days to reach the original payment method, and all plan credits are revoked as soon as one is processed. Magnific's terms say no EU right of withdrawal applies because the service is digital content, so this policy is the route there too. Contact support before disputing a charge with your bank: Magnific's docs warn a chargeback may get the account suspended.

Yes, it's the same service. Freepik renamed itself Magnific on April 28, 2026: same company in Málaga, Spain, same team, same accounts. Your Freepik login works on magnific.com, freepik.com redirects there, and your plan, price, billing cycle and payment method carried over unchanged, so a Freepik subscription cancels exactly as this guide shows. Charges now usually appear as MAGNIFIC AI or MAGNIFIC with a reference to Malaga. The Freepik mobile app was renamed Magnific too, and subscriptions bought in it continue unchanged.

Images, videos and audio you generated stay in your account and can still be downloaded, and the commercial license on files you downloaded while subscribed stays valid, including assets downloaded under the Freepik name. When the paid period ends you lose premium stock and the AI tools beyond the Free plan, which allows up to 20 AI images a day with Magnific's in-house model and 10 free stock downloads a day. Plan credits expire and extra credit packs are forfeited, and neither can be recovered, so spend them first unless you are going for a refund.

Through Apple or Google, not on magnific.com. On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Magnific > Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Magnific > Cancel. Refunds go through reportaproblem.apple.com or your Google Play purchase history, because Magnific can't process them. Magnific suggests canceling the in-app plan and subscribing on magnific.com if you want to manage billing on the web, but one subscriber on Reddit reports being stuck for weeks after doing that, with the website still saying the plan was bought in the app and offering no way to pay on the web.

There is no pause option, and no free trial to fall back on. Before your end date, click Renew subscription on Plan & billing (Magnific's docs also call it Resume or Reactivate) and the plan carries on with its original billing date. After the end date you need a new subscription, and your previous plan settings and preferences are not restored automatically. Promo codes and discounts apply only to the first payment, so renewals bill at the standard price.
