Quick answer

Sign in at my.readymag.com/settings, click Edit next to your current plan, then Cancel subscription (a small orange link under Save changes). Confirm in the pop-up, and if a second one asks why you're leaving, pick any reason and confirm again. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then the account moves to the Free plan with your published sites still online. Readymag refunds a payment only if you email support within 24 hours of it.

Readymag was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Settings and click Edit next to your plan

Go to my.readymag.com/settings and sign in. Under Profile you'll find the Current plan section, with your plan, your next payment date and two buttons, Edit and Change plan. Click Edit. Readymag's own help article goes through Change plan and then a click on your current plan's card; both routes land on the same Edit current plan page.

Click Cancel subscription

The Edit current plan page shows your billing interval, card, promo code field and next invoice date. In Readymag's current layout, Cancel subscription is a small orange text link under the dark Save changes button, in the Billing panel on the right. The screenshot is from 2024, when it was a large orange button at the bottom right. Leave Save changes alone: it is for switching billing interval or card, and Readymag notes that plan or billing period changes reset your billing cycle.

Read the Cancel subscription pop-up, then confirm

A pop-up titled Cancel subscription lists what you have now next to what will change: collaborators lose access to your projects, Readymag branding is switched on for every project, and on bigger plans features such as code export stop. It also says you can restore the plan until the date your current period ends. If it shows your published projects dropping to 1, that is the Free plan's allowance, not a takedown: Readymag says existing published projects stay online, but you can't edit, republish or publish anything new until only one is published. Click Cancel subscription.

Pick a reason and click Yes, cancel subscription

In the 2024 version of this flow, a second pop-up, Confirm cancellation, asks you to pick one of nine reasons, from R/m lacks features I need to I'll share my own reason. The Yes, cancel subscription button stays greyed out until you pick one, so choose any reason that fits and click it. Picking It's too expensive brought no counter-offer. Readymag's current help article stops at the first pop-up, so if you don't see this screen, your subscription may already be cancelled: check the next step.

Check the plan says Unsubscribed and note the date

Back on Edit current plan, the next invoice row turns into Status: Subscription expires, followed by the date, and a grey Unsubscribed label sits next to a Resubscribe button. That date is when paid features end and the account moves to the Free plan; nothing renews. If you want the plan back before then, click Resubscribe on the same page.

Can't find Cancel subscription? Ask support, don't switch plans

One user on r/Readymag in June 2026 said the cancel button from the help article simply wasn't there, and it only appeared after they moved to the cheaper Personal plan. If the link is missing from your Edit current plan page, ask Readymag to cancel for you through live chat or at support@readymag.com; its terms name that address as a way to stop automatic billing. Switching to a cheaper plan instead keeps you paying, starts a new billing period that day, and turns any money left from your old plan into account credit that Readymag won't pay back to your card.

Charged in the last 24 hours? Email for a refund

Cancelling in Settings never refunds anything by itself. Readymag refunds a payment only if you email support@readymag.com within 24 hours of it, and its terms apply that to renewal charges too, so write the same day a renewal you didn't want goes through. You can ask in the same message for the plan to end straight away instead of at the period end. Refunds are paid in US dollars to the account you paid from and take up to 10 business days; if you paid in another currency, exchange rates and processor fees can change the amount. Don't start with a bank dispute: Readymag's terms say a dispute ends your subscription and service immediately.

Before the end date: unmap custom domains and export your work

On the Free plan, sites show only on a readymag.website address, and Readymag says visitors to a custom domain you leave connected will see a Website is offline message. Unmap it before the plan expires: in Project Settings, open the Domain tab and click Unmap, and for a domain on your public profile, clear the Custom domain field under Settings, Public Profile. Code export (on plans that include it) and PDF export stop on Free, so download what you need while the plan runs. Uploaded fonts and custom code keep working on published pages, but if you edit and republish on Free, the fonts turn into system fonts and the code stops running.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Readymag plans renew automatically for the same period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Once you do, the plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for and does not renew. Your Edit current plan page shows the date as Subscription expires, and on that date the account moves to the Free plan, which costs nothing. The one exception is a plan change: switching to a different paid plan or billing interval is not a cancellation, and it starts a new billing period that day.

Only within 24 hours of a payment. Readymag's terms say it refunds a payment, renewals included, only if you email support@readymag.com within 24 hours of it; after that you keep the plan until the period ends and get nothing back. Refunds go out in US dollars to the account you paid from and take up to 10 business days. The terms don't describe a separate 14-day withdrawal period for buyers in the EU or UK. One user on r/Readymag reported getting a refund after the 24 hours had passed, so asking costs nothing, but nothing in the terms promises it. Money left on your account balance from a plan change is credit for future purchases and can't be paid back to your card.

Nothing is deleted. When the paid period ends, the account switches to the Free plan and your published projects stay online on readymag.website addresses, with Readymag branding switched on. Custom domains you didn't unmap show a Website is offline message. On Free you can't create a new project, or edit and republish one, until only one project is published, and you can't add pages to a project that already has 10 or more. Password-protected projects stay private, Google Analytics stops receiving data, and collaborators lose access to your shared projects. If you return to a paid plan, collaborators get their access back and Analytics resumes with the same Tracking ID.

Readymag documents no such route. It is a browser-based tool, its terms describe billing only to the card saved on your account, and its help centre lists no App Store or Google Play purchase option, so a Readymag plan won't appear in your phone's subscription settings. Cancel in Settings on readymag.com, or email support@readymag.com if you can't get into the account.

No. A cheaper paid plan, Personal for example, keeps billing you, and the new billing period starts the day you switch. Any money left from your old plan is added to your account balance as credit for future purchases, which Readymag won't transfer back to your card. Readymag also asks you to bring your account within the new plan's limits first, such as published projects, custom domains and collaborators. If you want the bills to stop, use Cancel subscription and let the account fall back to the Free plan.

Yes. Until the expiry date, open Settings, go to the Current plan section, click Change plan, select your current plan and click Resubscribe, and nothing changes. After the plan has expired, you pick a plan again at today's prices: Personal is $19 a month or $168 a year, Freelancer $38 or $348, and Advanced $65 or $702. If you were on one of Readymag's archived plans, such as Creator, Professional or Custom, you can't get it back once you have moved off it.
