Quick answer

In a web browser (not the SoundCloud app), sign in at soundcloud.com/you/subscriptions, click Edit on your plan, then Opt-out of your current plan and Confirm and Cancel your Plan. This works for Go, Go+, DJ, Artist and Artist Pro. You keep the plan until the paid period ends, and SoundCloud does not refund the rest. Subscribed in the App Store or Google Play? Cancel in the store. On Artist or Artist Pro, releases distributed through SoundCloud are taken down 30 days after the plan ends.

SoundCloud was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Sign in at soundcloud.com in a web browser

Cancelling only works on the SoundCloud website: SoundCloud's help center says it cannot be done in the SoundCloud app. Sign in at soundcloud.com, on a computer if you can. SoundCloud's cancel article says a mobile browser works too, but its free-trial article says cancelling is not possible on a mobile device, and users on r/soundcloud report being told to use a desktop. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, go to the store step at the end of this guide instead.

SoundCloud web Home page, signed in, with orange Try Go+ and Try Artist Pro links in the top bar, then Artist Studio, Upload, the profile avatar, notification and message icons and a three-dot menu at the far right, above Trending by genre carousels and an Artist Tools panel reading Unlock Artist tools from $3.25/month
2

Open the three-dot menu and click Subscription

Click the three dots at the far right of the top bar. The menu starts with About us, Legal and Copyright, then Get SoundCloud Go+ and a block of other links, and near the bottom Subscription, Settings and Sign out. Click Subscription. You can also go straight to soundcloud.com/you/subscriptions.

SoundCloud three-dot menu open over the Home page, listing About us, Legal, Copyright, Get SoundCloud Go+ in orange, Mobile apps, Artist Membership, Newsroom, Jobs, Developers, SoundCloud Store, Support, Keyboard shortcuts, then Subscription, Settings and Sign out at the bottom
3

Click Edit on the plan you want to cancel

The Subscriptions page lists each plan you pay for under Current plans, with a line such as "Renews automatically on" and your next billing date, and your purchase history below. Click Edit on the card for the plan you want to end. If you pay for two plans, such as Artist Pro and Go+, each has its own card and each has to be cancelled on its own.

SoundCloud Subscriptions page with one current plan, Artist Pro, described as Unlimited upload time, fan-powered royalties, advanced analytics and more, reading Renews automatically on Sep 18, 2026, with a white Edit button; below it an Are you a student? banner linking to Get SoundCloud Go+ for 50% off, and a purchase history listing a Monthly Artist Pro plan at $15.99 on Aug 18, 2026 and a Monthly Artist plan at $6.25 on Aug 14, 2026, each with View receipt
4

Click Opt-out of your current plan at the bottom

There is no screenshot for this step or the next; the labels come from SoundCloud's help center. After Edit, SoundCloud shows your plan options with buttons to buy or move to other plans. Scroll past them: SoundCloud's cancel article says to select Opt-out of your current plan at the bottom of the page. Another SoundCloud help page words the same prompt as "Don't want to renew your plan?", so the text on your screen may differ slightly.

5

Click Confirm and Cancel your Plan, then look for EXPIRES

Confirm on the next screen; SoundCloud's help center calls the button Confirm and Cancel your Plan. Artist Pro members may first see a list of what they lose and a box to tick: a user on r/soundcloud posted that screen in April 2025, headed "Confirm your Artist Pro cancellation", with the checkbox "I have read and fully understand the cons". Its line that releases will be removed from all streaming services "forever" is starker than SoundCloud's own help center, which gives you 30 days after the plan ends to renew before distributed releases are taken down. Then refresh the Subscriptions page: SoundCloud says that if it shows EXPIRES next to your billing date, the plan is cancelled and will not renew.

If this applies to you

If you pay through the App Store or Google Play

SoundCloud says it cannot cancel or refund a plan bought in its iPhone app; Apple and Google Play plans have to be cancelled with the store. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and SoundCloud. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions and SoundCloud. If your bank statement names Apple or Google Play rather than SoundCloud, it is a store plan, as SoundCloud's own Reddit account told one user in 2026. Users who bought in the app report finding no Edit button on soundcloud.com. Also check for a second plan: two users on r/soundcloud describe being billed by SoundCloud and by Apple at the same time, one after adding a card in the phone app.

7
If this applies to you

If there is no Edit button or no opt-out link

Check three things before writing to support. First, the account: SoundCloud's Reddit account says a paid plan often sits on a second account, signed in with another email, Facebook, Google or Apple ID, so sign in each way you might have used. Second, the store: a plan billed by Apple or Google Play is cancelled in the store (previous step). Third, the plan: in 2025 Go+ subscribers on r/soundcloud reported finding only upgrade buttons after Edit, and two said that moving to Go first made the opt-out appear; one of them did it by clicking Buy now on Go, so it is a plan change, not a free switch. To reach a person, use Contact support on help.soundcloud.com, which starts with an AI agent that can open a ticket, and keep the ticket number: SoundCloud's Reddit account asks for it when people post there.

If this applies to you

If you have Artist or Artist Pro, plan for your uploads and releases

Cancelling a creator plan deletes nothing, but it changes what listeners see. After the plan ends, your oldest uploads over the new limit (180 minutes on Artist, 120 minutes on the free Basic plan) are hidden from listeners, including tracks in your RSS feed; you can still see them on your Tracks page, and SoundCloud says they return with their stats and comments if you subscribe again. Tracks you distributed or monetized through SoundCloud for Artists are taken down from services like Spotify and Apple Music, and demonetized, 30 days after the plan ends. To keep them up, move them to another distributor first: r/soundcloud regulars advise keeping each release's ISRC code and registering it with the new distributor before you leave.

If this applies to you

If you pay a reduced Go+ price as a student or an Artist Pro member

Two Go+ discounts end without you cancelling anything. Go+ for Students lasts 12 months at a time: if you don't re-verify with SheerID, SoundCloud renews you at the normal Go+ price ($11.99 a month in the US, against $5.99 for students) unless you opt out first, and it says its reminder emails sometimes land in spam. The student rate also stops after 4 consecutive years. And Artist Pro members pay half for Go+ only while both plans run: cancel Artist Pro and Go+ carries on at the full price from your next billing cycle. If you want neither, cancel each plan from its own Edit button.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, as long as you cancel before your next billing date. You keep your plan's features until the end of the period you've paid for, and your Subscriptions page shows that date next to EXPIRES. After it, a Go, Go+ or DJ plan reverts to free, ad-supported SoundCloud and an Artist or Artist Pro plan to the free Basic plan. Monthly and yearly plans both renew automatically, so a forgotten yearly plan bills the whole year again. If SoundCloud raises your price, its terms promise at least six weeks' notice before the new price applies, which is your window to cancel.

Usually not. SoundCloud's help center says it does not offer refunds for delivered subscriptions: cancelling stops the next charge and leaves you the time you've paid for. Deleting your account doesn't change that, because SoundCloud's terms say it can't refund the unexpired part of a subscription if you end the agreement early. Buyers in Europe have a 14-day right to withdraw from a plan bought directly from SoundCloud (its Artist terms name the EU, EEA and UK): write to contact@soundcloud.com or to SoundCloud in Berlin, and it refunds you, minus a share for the time you used if you started using the plan straight away. Plans bought through Apple or Google Play are refunded by the store. If a yearly Artist Pro charge was a mistake, open a support ticket at once: r/soundcloud has several 2025 and 2026 posts about accidental yearly charges and slow replies.

Nothing is deleted. On Go, Go+ or DJ you keep ad-free and offline listening until the plan expires; then the account reverts to free, ad-supported SoundCloud, which has no offline listening. On Artist or Artist Pro, your oldest uploads over the new limit (180 minutes on Artist, 120 on Basic) are hidden from listeners but stay visible to you on your Tracks page, and they reappear with their stats and comments if you subscribe again. Releases distributed or monetized through SoundCloud for Artists are taken down from other services and demonetized 30 days after the plan ends; if you renew after that, SoundCloud says they should be reinstated within 7 days.

Cancel with the store, not on soundcloud.com. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, SoundCloud. On Android: Google Play, your profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, SoundCloud. SoundCloud says it can't help with cancellations or refunds for subscriptions bought on iOS devices, so refund requests go to Apple or Google too. Go+ for Students and the Artist Pro discount on Go+ are sold only on the web, so to move to either you have to cancel the store plan, let it expire and buy again on soundcloud.com.

Yes. Go and Go+ come with a free trial on your first purchase (7 days for Go and 30 for Go+, Go+ for Students and DJ in the US when we checked), and SoundCloud says you can cancel at any point in it; if you don't, the monthly price is charged when the trial ends. Cancel the same way, from Edit on your Subscriptions page, on a computer: SoundCloud's trial article says it can't be done from a mobile device. A 0.00 or 1.00 entry on your statement when the trial starts is a card check that SoundCloud says goes straight back. There is no second trial: if you've had Go before, a new subscription is charged at once, and there is no trial at all in Québec.

SoundCloud has no switch from monthly to yearly. Its help center says to cancel the monthly plan, wait for it to expire, then buy the yearly one. That only applies to Artist and Artist Pro, the plans sold yearly on the web, and it saves a lot: in the US, Artist Pro is $15.99 a month or $99 a year, and Artist $6.25 a month or $39 a year. The same cancel-and-wait route is how you move from a card to PayPal. To rejoin, buy a plan again from soundcloud.com; hidden tracks reappear. Two things don't carry over: SoundCloud says previous pricing will not apply to a new purchase, so an older, cheaper rate is gone once you cancel, and a returning Go subscriber gets no free trial.
