Quick answer

Sign in at admin.mistral.ai/subscriptions, open the Vibe tab, and click Unsubscribe under Downgrade to Free. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period — Mistral only refunds if you cancel within 14 days of your initial purchase, and never on renewals. Mistral cancels the Vibe subscription; the API (La Plateforme) plan is a separate unsubscribe.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Confirm where you originally subscribed

Mistral makes you cancel where you signed up. If you subscribed on the web (mistral.ai / chat.mistral.ai), follow the next steps. If you subscribed inside the iOS or Android Vibe app — formerly Le Chat — you have to cancel in the App Store or Google Play (see the mobile step below). Bundled through Free Mobile, Orange, or NJU? The carrier owns that subscription — Mistral cannot cancel it for you.

2

Sign in to the Admin Console

Open admin.mistral.ai/subscriptions in a web browser and sign in with the same account and email you used to subscribe. The Admin Console is separate from chat.mistral.ai (the Vibe app) — there is no cancel button inside the chat app itself. If the console loads but you cannot see a paid plan, you may be signed in with a different email than the one Pro is attached to; check your original purchase confirmation to find the right address.

3

Open the Vibe tab

The Subscriptions page has a Vibe tab and a La Plateforme tab side by side. Select Vibe — this is the consumer chat / Pro subscription. La Plateforme is the API developer plan and is billed and cancelled separately (covered as an optional step at the bottom).

4

Click Unsubscribe under Downgrade to Free

Scroll to the Downgrade to Free section on the Vibe tab and click Unsubscribe. A confirmation dialog appears warning that your organization will return to the Free plan. Mistral does not run a multi-screen retention flow here — no pause offer, no plan switcher, no reason survey. One dialog, then confirm.

5

Confirm the cancellation

Click the confirmation button in the dialog. Cancellation is recorded immediately. Nothing changes visually for a few seconds while the console reloads the plan section.

6

Verify the cancel actually completed

Two checks worth doing right now: (1) refresh the Vibe tab and confirm the paid plan card is replaced by a Free-plan card or a "Resume subscription" button; (2) look for the confirmation email in the inbox tied to your Mistral account. If either is missing after a few minutes, retry the Unsubscribe — do not assume the click landed.

7

Know your refund window

If you cancelled within 14 days of your initial Pro purchase, Mistral processes the refund automatically to the original payment method — usually 5 to 10 business days at your bank. After the 14-day window, you keep full Pro access until the end of the current billing period and then drop to Free. There is no prorated refund and no refund on renewals, even the day after being billed.

8

Changed your mind? Use Resume subscription

While your cancelled Pro is still running out its billing period, the Vibe tab shows a Resume subscription button. Clicking it restores automatic renewal with no new charge until the next cycle. Your plan, conversations, and settings are already preserved — the Le Chat to Vibe rename explicitly kept everything intact — so resume just puts renewal back on.

If you subscribed inside the Vibe (Le Chat) mobile app

Mobile app subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not Mistral — so cancel there: iPhone — Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Vibe Pro (the receipt may still say Le Chat Pro) > Cancel Subscription. Android — play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions > Vibe > Cancel Subscription. Refunds also go through Apple or Google support; Mistral cannot process store refunds directly.

If your Pro is bundled with Free Mobile, Orange, or NJU

Carrier bundles are managed by the carrier. Free Mobile subscribers cancel from their Free Mobile customer account. Orange and NJU offers include 6 months free and end automatically after the promo period — there is no payment to refund. Mistral cannot cancel, refund, or change carrier-bundled subscriptions directly.

Team plan: only the admin can cancel

On the Team plan, cancellation is an organization-level action — regular members cannot cancel their own seat. If you are a member and want to stop being billed, contact your organization administrator; if you are the admin, follow the same Admin Console flow, but confirm you understand every seat in the workspace drops to Free at the end of the current billing period.

Also using the Mistral API? Unsubscribe La Plateforme separately

Cancelling Vibe does not cancel your API (La Plateforme) plan — the two live under the same Admin Console but bill and cancel independently. Open admin.mistral.ai/plateforme/subscription (or click La Plateforme > Subscription in the sidebar), scroll to the Unsubscribe section and click the red Unsubscribe button. The warning modal is explicit: you lose access to the plan features, all API keys in the workspace deactivate, and any billed-but-unpaid balance is not refunded — the final invoice appears on your workspace shortly after.

Confirm the API unsubscribe warning

The warning modal titled "Warning" reads: "Unsubscribing from your La Plateforme plan will deactivate all API keys in this workspace" and "You will not get refunded of what you already paid. Your final invoice will appear shortly on your workspace." Click Unsubscribe to confirm — this is final for the current billing period.

Verify the La Plateforme unsubscribe completed

After confirming, the La Plateforme page updates to "No active plan yet. Choose a plan now to get access to our API" and a toast reads "Successful unsubscription, your API keys will be deactivated shortly." That toast plus the missing plan card is your confirmation — API keys stop working over the next few minutes. There is no confirmation email specifically for API unsubscribe, so this on-screen state is your only record; screenshot it if you may need to dispute anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

You should not be. Once you cancel from the Admin Console you receive a confirmation email and the Vibe tab drops the paid plan card. That said, Mistral community reports of billing attempts landing after a successful cancel are real — one Reddit user was billed for a full extra month after cancelling on the 1st, and support initially treated the missed charge as debt owed. Save your confirmation email, screenshot the Free-plan state, and if a post-cancel charge appears, dispute it with the confirmation email attached and escalate on the Mistral Discord if the help.mistral.ai chat widget goes silent.

Only if you cancel within 14 days of your initial Pro purchase — that is the legal withdrawal window and it applies only to first purchases, never to renewals. In that window, cancelling from admin.mistral.ai/subscriptions is immediate and the refund is processed automatically to your original payment method (typically 5 to 10 business days). Outside 14 days, Mistral does not offer prorated refunds; you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period. If you subscribed through the App Store, Google Play, or a mobile carrier, refunds are entirely their process — Mistral cannot process them.

Nothing is deleted by cancelling. Le Chat rebranded to Vibe in June 2026 without touching accounts, plans, conversations, or saved content — the same principle applies when you drop from Pro to Free. Your account, chat history, memories, and settings all stay. What you lose is Pro-only capacity: higher message and search limits, coding-mode features, and the like. If you also want your data gone, that is a separate step (Admin Console > account > Danger Zone > Delete account) — and Mistral requires all outstanding fees to be paid before deletion is allowed.

The Admin Console will not show a cancel option when a third party bills you. iPhone — Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Vibe Pro (the receipt may still say Le Chat Pro) > Cancel Subscription. Android — play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions > Vibe > Cancel Subscription. Free Mobile, Orange, or NJU bundle — cancel from your carrier account, since those subscriptions are billed by the carrier. Access continues until the end of the current paid period on all channels; refunds go through Apple, Google, or the carrier respectively — Mistral cannot issue them.

No. Vibe (the consumer chat / Pro product) and La Plateforme (the developer API) are two separate subscriptions living under the same Admin Console. Cancel each one independently — API plan at admin.mistral.ai/plateforme/subscription, Vibe at admin.mistral.ai/subscriptions on the Vibe tab. Cancelling API deactivates all API keys in the workspace. Note that any prepaid API credit balance is not automatically refunded on cancel and refund requests for credits are reviewed case-by-case by support with your organization ID and receipt number.

Yes. If your billing period has not yet ended, the Vibe tab in the Admin Console shows a Resume subscription button — clicking it restores automatic renewal with no new charge until the next cycle, and your plan simply continues. If the billing period has already elapsed and you dropped to Free, sign in at admin.mistral.ai/subscriptions and pick a plan again from the Upgrade to Pro section. Your account, chat history, and preferences are still intact.
