Quick answer

Sign in at artlist.io/account/plan-and-billings, open Subscription info, click Cancel renewal, finish the reason survey, check the consequences box, then confirm with Yes, Cancel. You keep access until the end of the current billing period — Artlist does not refund mid-cycle unless you qualify under the 14-day unused-asset window.

Artlist was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Publish projects and update Clearlist before you cancel

Stock music, SFX, footage, and templates stay licensed only for projects you finish and publish while the plan is still active. After the period ends, those downloads cannot go into new projects. Add any YouTube/social channels or videos you still need to Clearlist now — you cannot add new Clearlist entries after the license expires. AI outputs you generated are yours under Artlist's AI terms even after cancel.

2

Open your Billing / Payments page

Go to artlist.io/account/plan-and-billings and sign in. You can also reach the same place from the avatar menu: My Account → Billing. You'll see your plan card, next payment amount, and payment method under Payments.

3

Open Subscription info

On the plan card, open the more (⋯) menu or click Subscription info. A Subscription info modal lists your plan name, subscribed-since date, next billing date, and next payment.

4

Click Cancel renewal

In the Subscription info modal, click Cancel renewal. Do not click Change plan unless you actually want a cheaper tier at the next renewal — that keeps you subscribed. Cancel renewal starts a two-step exit flow.

5

Pick a cancellation reason

Artlist opens a survey titled "we're sorry to see you go" with six checkboxes (catalog gaps, no upcoming projects, can't afford it, hard to use, other platform, Other). Select any reason — or leave feedback blank if you only need to proceed — then click Next.

6

Add feedback if you chose Other (optional)

If you check Other (Please specify), a free-text box appears. Type a short note if you want, then click Next. Feedback is optional for the cancel itself.

7

Read the license warning and confirm

Step 2 asks "are you sure you want to cancel your auto-renewal?" A red Important box warns you won't be able to use downloads in new work after the plan ends, and lists that you'll drop to a free account, watermarked-only downloads, and lose AI generators. Check "I have read and understood the consequences of canceling my subscription," then click Yes, Cancel — not No, Keep Subscription.

8

Check the box, then click Yes, Cancel

Yes, Cancel stays unavailable until the acknowledgment checkbox is ticked. Check it, click Yes, Cancel, and wait for the success modal.

Verify your auto-renew is canceled

You should see "Your auto renew has been canceled" with the exact date the paid plan stays active. You can reverse course with I Changed My Mind, Turn On, or click Back to Account. No further charge should hit after that end date.

Need a refund after a fresh charge?

Canceling stops the next renewal; it does not automatically refund the period you already paid. Artlist's help center allows refunds only for payments in the last 14 days when no assets were downloaded, generated, or used. Contact Artlist support with the account name, email, last four card digits (or PayPal email), and invoice. If you already downloaded anything after the charge, expect a no.

If Cancel renewal is missing or broken

Some subscribers hit a stuck Billing UI where Cancel renewal never completes. Use Artlist's in-product Contact / help chat with your account email and a screenshot of the Subscription info modal. Keep access until they confirm renewal is off, and watch the bank statement around the next billing date.

If the charge says Artlist Inc. but you use Motion Array

Artlist owns Motion Array. A bank line from Artlist Inc. can be either product. If you never used artlist.io, check Motion Array's account billing (or their help center) before disputing the charge as unknown.

Frequently Asked Questions

No new renewal should process once Cancel renewal succeeds. You keep full paid access until the end date shown on the confirmation modal (and again under Billing). There is no mid-cycle stop — you already paid for the current month or year.

Only in a narrow window: payment within the last 14 days and no assets downloaded, generated, or used in a project (applies to new subs and renewals). Outside that, Artlist keeps the period active until it ends with no prorated cash back. Request refunds through Artlist support with invoice and payment details — cancel alone does not trigger a refund. EU/UK 14-day withdrawal rules may still apply depending on where you live.

Projects completed and published while subscribed stay licensed even after you leave. After the end date you cannot put downloaded stock music/SFX/footage/templates into new projects, and you drop to a free account with watermarked previews. Channels and videos already on Clearlist remain cleared; you cannot add new Clearlist entries after expiry. AI-generated outputs you created generally remain yours under Artlist's AI license terms.

Artlist's stock and AI subscriptions are billed on the website (card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay at checkout) — not as a separate App Store or Google Play subscription you manage in phone Settings. Cancel on artlist.io/account/plan-and-billings as above. If Apple Pay or Google Pay was only the wallet at checkout, renewal still runs through Artlist Billing, not the App Store subscriptions list.

No. Artlist's free Trial account stays free indefinitely until you buy a paid plan — there is nothing to cancel and no trial end-date charge. Only paid Music & SFX, Footage, Max, AI Suite, and Team plans need Cancel renewal.

Yes. Before the end date, use I Changed My Mind, Turn On on the success modal, or Turn renewal on from the avatar menu on Toolkit/Studio. After the plan expires, sign in, pick a plan on the pricing page, and pay again — your account history returns with you. Auto-renew turns back on with every new purchase, so cancel again before the next cycle if you only want one period.
