Export your murals before access ends

Before your billing period expires, export any murals you want to keep. Go to each mural, click the three-dot menu, and select "Export." Mural supports PNG, PDF, and CSV exports depending on content type. After your period ends, murals become inaccessible unless you resubscribe or contact support for a Free plan transition.

Request a Free plan downgrade instead

If you want to keep viewing your murals without paying, contact Mural Support to transition to the Free plan instead of canceling outright. The Free plan limits you to 3 editable murals and open rooms only — any murals in private rooms will vanish because Free plans don't support private rooms. Convert private rooms to open rooms before the switch.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Once you cancel, Mural won't bill you again. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period — monthly plans run to the next 30-day mark, annual plans run to the anniversary date. The billing page shows your exact access-end date after cancellation.

Mural does not mention prorated refunds anywhere in their help center or billing documentation. When you cancel, you retain access until your billing period ends — that's the extent of it. Annual plan customers who cancel early still keep access for the remainder of the year but receive no partial refund. EU/UK customers may have additional withdrawal rights within 14 days of subscribing under consumer protection regulations.

Your murals become inaccessible once the billing period ends. They are not deleted — Mural suspends the workspace. If you resubscribe later, your content returns as you left it. Alternatively, contact Mural Support to transition to the Free plan, which preserves your murals (though only 3 are editable and private rooms aren't supported).

Mural's current plans don't include a traditional free trial — they offer a permanent Free plan with limitations instead. If you signed up for Team+ or Business and want to stop paying, the standard cancellation flow applies. Cancel before the next billing date to avoid another charge.

Not immediately. Mural states that a credit card cannot be removed while a subscription is active. After your billing cycle ends and the subscription becomes inactive, contact Mural Support to request credit card removal. This is a manual process handled by their team.

Yes. Log in to your existing account and resubscribe from the Billing page. Your workspace, murals, and all content are preserved in their suspended state. There's no returning-customer discount documented — you'll pay the current published rate for your chosen plan.
