Open the Pattern Dashboard

Sign in to Etsy.com from a desktop browser — the cancel flow is not available on mobile. Go to Shop Manager, then under Sales Channels choose Pattern. You'll land on the Pattern Dashboard showing your site preview, stats, and management links.

Click Settings

In the left sidebar, click Settings. The "Manage your settings and billing" page shows your current billing status, trial or subscription dates, and integrations for Google Analytics and Disqus.

Click Cancel your Pattern site

On the Settings page, click Cancel your Pattern site. A modal titled "We're sorry to see you go" appears with a cancellation survey asking for your main reason.

Select a cancellation reason

Open the "Select a reason" dropdown. Options include "I can't afford it at this price," "I ran into technical problems," "Too little traffic," "My trial is about to end," and several others. Pick whichever applies.

Add optional feedback and click Cancel Pattern

After selecting a reason, a free-text field appears asking you to elaborate. This is optional — you can leave it blank. Click Cancel Pattern (not "Remember," which aborts the cancellation).

Skip the "Are you sure?" resource links

Etsy shows an "Are you sure?" screen with links to resources about boosting sales — a Quickstart Sales Coupon Code guide, a Customize Your E-commerce SEO page, and a Best Practices: Benefits of Email Marketing article. Below that, it confirms your site will remain active until the end of your paid period. Click Cancel Pattern to continue.

Skip the free month extension offer

Etsy's second retention screen offers one free extra month: "Give us another shot — We're giving you one more month, on us." If you want to cancel, click "No thanks, Cancel Pattern" at the bottom.

Verify your cancellation

You're returned to the Settings page where a confirmation banner reads "You have cancelled Pattern. Your site will be deactivated on [date]." Your site stays live until that date. If you want it taken down immediately, click Deactivate my site now.

If this applies to you

Disconnect your domain if you registered one through Etsy

Canceling Pattern does NOT cancel a domain you purchased through Etsy's Tucows partner. That domain registration keeps billing separately. To stop it: go to Pattern Dashboard → Domains tab → Manage this domain → Unlock for transfer (to move it to another registrar) or let it expire. There is a 60-day wait after registration before you can transfer.

If this applies to you

Don't confuse Pattern with Etsy Plus

Pattern ($15/month website builder) and Etsy Plus ($10/month shop customization with listing credits and Etsy Ads credits) are completely separate subscriptions. Canceling one does not affect the other. If you have both, you need to cancel each independently — Etsy Plus is managed under Shop Manager → Settings.

No. Once you cancel, Etsy won't bill you for Pattern again. Your site stays live until the end of the current billing month, then it's automatically taken down. However, if you registered a domain through Etsy, that domain registration continues billing separately — you'll need to disconnect or transfer it from the Pattern Dashboard's Domains tab.

No. Etsy's pricing page states the monthly fee is "non-refundable." If you cancel mid-month, you keep access until the end of that month but won't get a partial refund. Your first month's bill is prorated based on when you signed up, but after that it's the full $15.00 USD each month. EU/UK sellers may have additional rights under consumer protection law within 14 days of subscribing.

Your Pattern site stays live until the end of the paid month, then Etsy takes it down automatically. Your Etsy shop and its listings are completely unaffected — Pattern is a separate sales channel. Any Pattern-only listings (items not in your main Etsy shop) will no longer be accessible to buyers once the site goes down. Blog posts, custom pages, and site customizations are lost unless you save them before canceling.

If you registered a domain through Etsy's Tucows partner, that registration stays active and keeps billing after Pattern cancellation. You need to separately manage it from the Pattern Dashboard → Domains tab. Options: transfer it to another registrar (60-day wait applies after initial registration), point it to a different site by editing DNS records, or let it expire. Third-party domains you connected to Pattern just need their A-record and CNAME updated at your domain provider.

Yes. After canceling, the Settings page shows a Reactivate link in the confirmation banner. If you reactivate within the same billing period, your site continues without interruption. If you reactivate later, you'll start a new subscription at $15.00 USD/month and need to republish your site. Your Etsy shop listings will reimport, but Pattern-only listings, blog posts, and customizations from the previous subscription may not be recoverable.
