Quick answer

Cancel on the platform that bills you. On iPhone, open Runna Profile, tap your Premium status card, tap Cancel Subscription, then Yes, Cancel — or go straight to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Runna. You keep Premium until the paid period ends; canceling does not refund the current cycle.

Runna was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Confirm where Runna bills you

Check a recent bank, App Store, Google Play, or Strava receipt before you start. Standalone Runna Premium cancels through Apple, Google Play, or the Paddle web portal. The Strava + Runna joint annual bundle cancels through Strava — Runna cannot turn that off. In the app, Profile → Settings → Subscription shows which platform manages your plan.

2

Open your Profile and tap the Premium status card

In the Runna iOS app, tap your profile picture (top-left). Under your name you should see a Runna Premium or Runna Premium Trial status card — orange border while a trial is active, with the conversion or renewal date. Tap that card to open subscription management.

3

Tap Cancel Subscription

On the Runna Premium screen you will see your current plan under Your Runna Premium Subscription and an Annual option under Alternative Subscriptions. Scroll past the plan cards and tap Cancel Subscription — the white control with a chevron below the plan list.

4

Tap Yes, Cancel — skip Keep Premium

Runna shows a full-bleed “Are you sure you want to cancel?” screen with a coaching photo and copy that you will lose access to your full personalized training plan and coaching support. Tap Yes, Cancel — not the solid black No, Keep Premium button.

5

Finish the Apple cancel sheet if it appears

For App Store–billed Premium, iOS may open Apple’s subscription confirmation after Yes, Cancel. Tap Cancel Subscription on Apple’s sheet — not Keep Subscription. If no sheet appears, open the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Runna → Cancel Subscription. That Settings path is also Runna’s official iOS cancel instructions.

6

Verify your access-until date

Return to Profile. After a successful cancel you should see a continue / reactivate Runna Premium banner with Subscribe and Restore instead of an active Premium Trial or Premium card. Check Settings → Subscriptions (or your Paddle / Play portal) for the exact access-until date. Monthly plans: cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Annual plans: you keep Premium for the full year you already paid.

Or cancel straight from Apple Settings

You can skip Runna’s in-app screens entirely. Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Runna → Cancel Subscription (scroll if needed). Official help lists this as the iOS path. The result is the same: Premium until the period ends, then free-tier access on the same account.

If this applies to you

If you signed up through Google Play

Open the Play Store → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Runna → Cancel Subscription, then follow the on-screen steps. Apple Settings and the Paddle portal will not stop a Play-billed renewal.

If this applies to you

If you subscribed on the web (Paddle)

Open the Paddle customer portal linked from Runna’s cancel help article, log in with your Runna account email, tap Cancel Subscription, and follow the prompts. Web charges often appear as paddle.net*runna. If login fails and you used Sign in with Apple, check Settings → your name → iCloud → Hide My Email for the Private Relay address tied to Runna — that is the address Paddle may have on file.

Strava + Runna bundle, or do not delete your account to stop billing

If Profile → Settings → Subscription says Strava, cancel and request refunds through Strava Support — Runna cannot cancel the joint $149.99/year bundle. For standalone Premium, cancel billing first; deleting your account (Profile → Delete Account) permanently wipes training data and does not cancel the subscription. Uninstalling the app also leaves auto-renew running.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — once cancel is confirmed on the platform that bills you, the next renewal should not charge. You keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for. On monthly plans, cancel at least 24 hours before renewal or the next month can still bill. On annual plans you keep access for the full 12 months you paid; canceling only stops the following year’s renewal.

Canceling stops future renewals; it is not automatically a refund. Runna routes refunds to the purchase platform (Apple, Google Play, Paddle, or Strava). Support says refunds are typically requested within 48–72 hours of subscribing and approval is at each platform’s discretion — not guaranteed. After that window Runna does not offer prorated annual refunds. For App Store purchases use reportaproblem.apple.com; for Paddle use paddle.net “Look up my purchase”; for the Strava + Runna bundle contact Strava Support. Residents of the EEA or UK may also have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right on new distance contracts.

Your Runna account stays. When Premium ends you lose the full personalized plan and coaching tools, but support says progress waits for you if you resubscribe with the same credentials. Deleting the account is different and permanent — do not delete just to cancel billing.

Cancel on the same desk that charges you. iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Runna → Cancel Subscription (or finish Profile → Premium card → Cancel Subscription → Yes, Cancel, then confirm any Apple sheet). Android: Play Store → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Runna. Web: Paddle customer portal with your Runna email. Strava + Runna joint bundle: Strava Support / Strava’s subscription controls — Runna’s portal will not cancel it.

Yes. Eligible new Premium users get a 7-day free trial (“first week free”). Cancel before the trial conversion date on the same platform that started the trial — Profile’s Premium Trial card even warns to cancel 24 hours before renewal. Cancel cleanly and you should not be charged when the trial would have converted.

Yes. Sign back in with the same email and subscribe again from the app (Subscribe / Restore on the Profile banner) or runna.com/pricing at the current list rate (US: about $19.99/month or $119.99/year). Your previous progress returns on that account. You cannot instantly switch monthly ↔ annual without waiting for the old sub to expire. Returning users may not see another first-week trial if they already used one.
