Quick answer

If Yahoo bills you, sign in at My Subscriptions, open your Yahoo Finance plan, click ManageCancel, pick a reason, then Cancel subscription. If you subscribed in the iOS or Android app, cancel in the App Store or Google Play instead — Yahoo won't stop that charge. You keep paid features until the end of the period you already paid for; Yahoo does not refund partial months.

Yahoo Finance was the one you remembered

The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Check which platform bills your Yahoo Finance plan

Yahoo Finance sells Bronze, Silver, and Gold on the web and as in-app purchases. Check a recent receipt or your bank/App Store statement: a Yahoo / Yahoo Finance charge means web billing; an Apple or Google Play receipt means the app store owns the subscription. Cancel on the same platform that charges you — using the wrong path leaves the renewal running.

2

Sign in to My Subscriptions (web billing)

For subscriptions purchased on finance.yahoo.com, open My Subscriptions and sign in with the Yahoo account that owns the plan. You can also reach the same list from Yahoo's general Subscriptions page (login.yahoo.com/myaccount/subscriptions).

3

Open Manage, then choose Cancel

Select your Yahoo Finance subscription from the Yahoo subscriptions list. Next to "Subscribed since," click Manage, then choose Cancel. Yahoo's help center documents this exact path for stopping automatic renewal on web-billed plans.

4

Pick a cancel reason and confirm

Select a cancel reason, then click Cancel subscription. After that, Yahoo stops charging your payment method for the next cycle. Your paid Bronze, Silver, or Gold features stay active until the current period expires — cancellation does not cut access mid-cycle.

5

Verify the end date and expect no cash-back

Yahoo's plan FAQ is blunt: you may cancel anytime and will not be charged again, but there are no refunds — you keep the features you already paid for until the paid period ends. Note the end date from your subscription details or confirmation, and check that the next renewal no longer appears.

6

On iPhone: open Profile in the Yahoo Finance app

If you subscribed through the iOS app, canceling is an App Store job. Open the Yahoo Finance app, tap Account, then open Profile. You'll see Account Info plus rows like Manage accounts and Yahoo Finance Plus Subscription.

7

Open Yahoo Finance Plus Subscription

Tap Yahoo Finance Plus Subscription. The Subscription screen confirms "You're subscribed" and lists Learn More, Manage monthly subscription, Help, and Contact us. The important line is under Manage monthly subscription — when it says you originally subscribed through the iOS App Store, Yahoo is handing you off to Apple.

Tap Manage monthly subscription and cancel in Apple Settings

Tap Manage monthly subscription to jump into Apple's subscription manager (or go manually: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Yahoo Finance). Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. Yahoo's mobile help states in-app purchases are managed through the device app store, not your Yahoo account — and refund or billing disputes go to Apple, not Yahoo.

If you subscribed through Google Play

Same rule as iOS: Play Store owns the bill. Open Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Yahoo Finance → Cancel subscription, or use play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Yahoo's My Subscriptions page will not cancel a Play-billed plan.

Downgrade instead of canceling (optional)

If you want a cheaper tier rather than Free, Yahoo documents a downgrade path: on finance.yahoo.com, open the Profile icon → Manage Subscription → Select plan on a lower tier. Downgrading still bills you — it is not the same as Cancel subscription — so only use it when you intend to keep paying at Bronze or Silver.

Annual renewal: the 14-day refund window

If an annual plan just auto-renewed and you cancel quickly, Yahoo's FAQ allows a refund within 14 calendar days after that renewal payment. Outside that window — or on monthly billing — the published policy is no refunds; you keep access until the paid period ends. For App Store or Play purchases, ask Apple or Google about refunds instead.

Cancel during the Gold 7-day free trial

Gold offers a 7-day free trial with an on-page warning: "To avoid charges, cancel before the trial ends." Use the same cancel path for your billing platform (My Subscriptions on web, or App Store / Google Play for IAP) before the trial converts. Waiting until after the trial ends means the first paid charge can already be on the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — once the cancel completes on the platform that bills you, Yahoo (or Apple/Google for in-app purchases) should not charge the next cycle. You keep paid features until the end of the period you already paid for. Confirm the end date on My Subscriptions or in your App Store / Play subscription details, and watch the following statement for a surprise renewal.

Yahoo's published policy: cancel anytime and you will not be charged again, but there are no refunds — you keep access until the paid period ends. The exception is annual plans: a refund is available within 14 calendar days after an automatic annual renewal payment. Monthly plans and mid-year annual cancels outside that window do not get cash back under that FAQ. App Store or Google Play purchases must go through Apple or Google for refunds. EU/UK users may also have a 14-day statutory withdrawal right on a new distance contract — that is separate consumer-law territory from Yahoo's published renewal window.

Free Yahoo Finance still includes real-time market data, charts, watchlists, and basic alerts after premium ends. What you lose are the paid Bronze / Silver / Gold extras (portfolio risk tools, research reports, AlphaSpace, long downloadable history, ad-free experience, and similar per-tier features). Export or screenshot anything premium-only you care about before your paid period ends — Yahoo does not document a long grace period that preserves Gold-only downloads after access drops to Free.

Cancel in the store that charged you. On iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Yahoo Finance → Cancel Subscription (or tap Manage monthly subscription from the in-app Subscription screen when it says you subscribed through the iOS App Store). On Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Yahoo's mobile help is explicit that in-app purchases are not managed through your Yahoo account, and billing/refund questions go to the app store.

Yes — and you should before the 7-day trial ends. The select-plan page warns: "To avoid charges, cancel before the trial ends." Use My Subscriptions for a web trial, or the App Store / Google Play subscription screen for a mobile trial. The cancel flow is the same as a paid plan; timing is what keeps the first charge from posting.

Yes. After access drops to Free, pick Bronze, Silver, or Gold again on finance.yahoo.com/about/plans/select-plan/ (or via the mobile upgrade flow). Your Yahoo login, watchlists, and Free-tier portfolio tools stay with the account. Returning prices follow the current public rates — yearly billing still advertises about 20% off versus month-to-month — and a second Gold free trial is not something Yahoo promises on the plan page, so assume a paid start if you already used the trial.
