Quick answer

Sign in at skillshare.com/settings/payments, click Cancel Membership, then work through three retention screens in a row: click Continue with cancellation, then the green Cancel Membership button, then No, Thank You to decline the 30% off offer. You keep access until the end of your billing period — Skillshare does not refund the current term, and it doesn't cancel automatically.

Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? how this compares to other subscriptions.

See Skillshare's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Skillshare ranks #38 of 139 by cancellation difficulty.

Step-by-step instructions

1

Open your Membership & Payments settings

Go to skillshare.com/settings/payments, or click your profile picture in the top-right corner, then Account Settings, then Membership & Payments. Under the Membership heading you'll see your next charge and renewal date (for example, "Your next yearly charge of $47.88 will be applied … on April 30, 2026"). Click the Cancel Membership link in the top-right of that box.

2

Get past the "Wait! Before you go…" screen

Skillshare shows a retention interstitial reminding you how many days are left in your billing cycle, with a wall of class thumbnails and a Browse All Classes link. Ignore it and click the purple Continue with cancellation button underneath.

Confirm on the "Saying goodbye is hard" page

The next page ("Saying goodbye is hard, but canceling your Skillshare membership is easy") spells out what happens: your effective termination date, that you keep member benefits until then, and that your projects, posts, and progress are saved. Click the green Cancel Membership button to proceed.

4

Decline the 30% off save offer

Skillshare makes one last pitch: "Rejoin Skillshare for 30% off your next year," framed as a 24-hour exclusive. Click No, Thank You. Get 30% Off Today re-subscribes you at the discounted rate — only take it if you actually want to stay.

Skip or fill the reason survey (optional)

The last page — "Your membership is canceled. Come back anytime." — asks why you left, with radio options like "I'd prefer to pay for classes individually" and a free-text box. This is optional feedback. Pick a reason and click Submit if you feel like it, or just leave the page; the cancellation is already done.

Confirm the cancellation stuck

Return to Membership & Payments. It should now read "Your membership has been canceled and will expire on [date]." plus a "visit the membership page" link to rejoin. The top nav also switches to a green Resume Membership button. Keep the confirmation email Skillshare sends as proof.

If this applies to you

If you subscribed through the Skillshare app (Apple or Google)

If you signed up inside the iOS or Android app, Apple or Google handles the billing and the website's Cancel Membership flow won't stop those charges. Cancel through Apple (Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Skillshare) or Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions). Skillshare's own terms confirm app-store subscriptions must be cancelled through that third party.

Want money back? Know the refund windows

Canceling never refunds the current term — you just keep access until it ends. Skillshare's refund policy (help.skillshare.com): after a 7-day free trial you can contact Support within 48 hours of the charge for a one-time refund, as long as you haven't used Skillshare since; charges after a 14-day-or-longer trial are not eligible; and subscription renewals are not refunded (Skillshare emails an annual renewal reminder about 30 days out, so cancel before then). EU and UK members have a 14-day cooling-off period under local law. App Store / Google Play purchases are refunded through those stores, not Skillshare.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Canceling stops the next annual renewal, and Skillshare confirms an expiry date on your Membership & Payments page immediately. You keep full access until that date — Skillshare does not bill you again once the membership is cancelled. One catch: canceling has to be done by you. Skillshare memberships auto-renew and do not lapse on their own, so if you never click Cancel Membership the yearly charge lands automatically.

Usually not. Skillshare's terms say it "has no obligation to consider or grant refund requests," and canceling before the end of your term does not refund the fees you already paid — you keep access until the period ends instead. The narrow exceptions from its refund policy: if you were on a 7-day free trial, you can contact Support within 48 hours of the charge for a one-time refund (as long as you haven't used Skillshare since); charges after a 14-day-or-longer trial aren't eligible; renewals are never refunded; and EU/UK members get a 14-day cooling-off window. Purchases made through the Apple or Google app must be refunded by that store.

You keep full member access — every class, plus your saved projects, posts, lists, and progress — until your membership's expiry date. After that date you lose access to member classes, but Skillshare saves your projects, posts, lists, and progress so they're still there if you rejoin. Rejoining resets your billing date to the day you re-subscribe.

Cancel through whichever store bills you. If you signed up in the iOS app, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Skillshare > Cancel Subscription on your iPhone or iPad. On Android, open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and cancel Skillshare there. The Cancel Membership button on Skillshare's website only manages subscriptions billed directly by Skillshare (through Stripe) — it can't stop an Apple- or Google-billed charge.

Yes. Skillshare's membership starts with a 7-day free trial, and if you cancel before the trial ends you won't be charged — the same Membership & Payments > Cancel Membership flow applies. If you forget and get charged right after a 7-day trial, you have a 48-hour window to contact Support for a one-time refund, provided you haven't used Skillshare since the charge. Leave the trial running past day 7 with no cancellation and the full annual membership fee is billed automatically.

Skillshare is now an annual-only membership — you're billed for the full year up front after the 7-day trial, and there's no monthly plan. If you're on a discounted or grandfathered rate, canceling forfeits it: when you resubscribe you pay whatever the current offer is, and your billing date resets to the day you rejoin. That's worth weighing before you cancel a cheap legacy rate you can't get back.
