Step-by-step instructions

1

Open Plan & billing

Sign in at admin.typeform.com. Click your organization name (top left), then Plan & billing. You'll see your current plan, response usage, and two buttons: Change my plan and Cancel my plan. Only organization owners or admins can change the plan.

2

Click Cancel my plan

Click the gray Cancel my plan button (not Change my plan — that path is for switching to another paid tier). Typeform sends you into a four-step cancel flow: Choose a plan → Review plan changes → Cancelation survey → Confirmation.

3

Select Free and click Get Free

On the plan picker, select the Free plan and click Get Free. That is how Typeform cancels a paid subscription — you are downgrading to Free, not deleting the account. If you are on a Growth plan, open the Individuals tab first; Free lives there, not under Teams or Enterprise.

4

Review what you lose, then continue

The Review plan change screen lists Plus (or your tier) features you will lose — branding removal, custom subdomain, file uploads, payments, and similar — next to a Your new plan card for Free (10 responses/mo, 1 seat). Click Continue to survey. The page notes the downgrade is not complete until you finish the cancelation survey.

5

Start and finish the exit survey

Typeform opens its own exit survey ("You're almost done! Before you go…"). Click Continue, answer the questions (whether you will replace Typeform, why you are stopping, optional free-text feedback), and click Submit at the end. Leaving the survey unfinished leaves your paid plan active — Typeform's help center is explicit about that.

6

Skip the Zapier retention pitch

Mid-survey, Typeform may pitch "No worries! You can connect to thousands of apps via Zapier" with a Connect Typeform to your tools with Zapier link. Click No thanks (or press Enter) to keep canceling — you do not need to set up an integration.

7

Check the box and click Cancel my plan

On Confirm cancelation, read the date your plan changes, then check "You understand that your plan will change on [date]." Until that box is checked, Cancel my plan stays disabled. Check it, then click the black Cancel my plan button on the Your new plan card.

Verify Your cancelation is confirmed

You should see Your cancelation is confirmed with the date your plan changes and the Free response limit. Typeform also emails a confirmation — if it is missing, re-check Plan & billing. Click Continue to Workspaces; a header chip like "N days left on your plan" is a quick second check that the downgrade is scheduled. A Rate your experience popup is optional.

Undo before the change date (optional)

After canceling, Workspaces may show a chip like "N days left on your plan." Paid features keep working until the confirmation date. To reverse the pending Free downgrade, open Plan & billing, click Stop! I changed my mind, then Yes, stay on my existing plan.

Export responses before paid features lock

Forms and past responses stay on the account after Free kicks in, but forms that use paid features (file upload, payments, Premium themes, and similar) can switch to trial mode and stop collecting until you remove those features or upgrade again. Export results from the Results panel before you strip paid question types — edits can affect stored responses.

Growth Flow trial: cancel before day 14

Growth Flow's 14-day trial requires a card and converts to the recurring Growth price if you do nothing. Use the same Cancel my plan → Free flow before the trial ends if you do not want the charge. There is no pause option on prepaid Typeform plans — only cancel or downgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions

No further renewals after a completed cancel. The downgrade to Free takes effect at the end of the prepaid period you already paid for (month or year). You keep paid features until that date. The exact change date appears on the Confirm cancelation and confirmation screens.

Typeform's help center states it does not issue refunds for contracts canceled before the prepaid period ends. Canceling mid-cycle keeps access until the term ends — it does not return unused days as cash. EU and UK consumers may have a 14-day right of withdrawal on new distance contracts; contact Typeform support with your account email if that applies. Outside that window, expect no refund.

Forms and previously collected responses are not deleted when you move to Free. You can still view them and export results. New responses are limited by the Free plan (10/mo). Forms that rely on paid features may close or enter trial mode until you remove those features or upgrade. Extra team seats beyond the Free/Basic limit are removed when the downgrade takes effect (most recently added members first).

Apple Pay and Google Pay are payment methods on Typeform's web checkout — they are not App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Cancel in Plan & billing on admin.typeform.com the same way. If Cancel my plan is missing, you are probably not an org owner/admin, or billing is on an Enterprise/Growth Custom contract handled by a CSM.

Self-serve Growth Flow includes a 14-day trial that requires a credit card and converts to the paid Growth price afterward. Cancel with Cancel my plan → Free before the trial end date to avoid the first charge. Basic, Plus, and Business do not use that Growth trial path — if you already paid, cancel before the next renewal date.

Yes. Before the downgrade date, use Stop! I changed my mind on Plan & billing. After Free is active, use Change my plan (or upgrade from pricing) to pick Basic, Plus, Business, or Growth again. Your forms and response history remain on the account. Check typeform.com/pricing for current per-organization rates.
