Step-by-step instructions

Sign in at untitled.stream and open your profile

Go to untitled.stream/login in a browser and sign in the same way you signed up. The page offers Continue with Google, Continue with Apple and Sign in with phone, and a different method can put you in a different account. In your library, click the person icon at the top right to open your profile page. If you paid through the iPhone or Android app, the store bills you instead, so use the optional steps below.

Click Subscription

On the profile page, click the Subscription row, just under the Download iOS App and Download Android App buttons. A Subscription window opens showing your Current plan, its price and a Renews on date, with rows for Change payment method, Invoices and Cancel [membership].

Click Cancel [membership], then Confirm

Click Cancel [membership], the red row at the bottom of the window. An "Are you sure?" dialog says that after your renewal date you will no longer have unlimited tracks or the premium editing and advanced control features. Click Confirm. Nevermind closes the dialog without cancelling.

Once you confirm, the Current plan line in the Subscription window changes from Renews on to Expires on, and the Cancel [membership] row becomes Renew [membership]. That swap is how you know the cancellation took. Screenshot the date. [untitled]'s terms say you keep using the plan until the end of the current term and it doesn't renew after that.

If you subscribed in the iPhone app

The App Store sells the same [membership] at the same $7.99 a month or $49.99 a year, but Apple does the billing. [untitled]'s terms say a subscription bought through an app store has to be cancelled through that store before the renewal date. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap [untitled], then tap Cancel Subscription. On a computer, sign in at account.apple.com and open Subscriptions. Apple says that if there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already cancelled.

The Android app's Google Play listing sells in-app purchases, so a plan bought there is billed by Google. On your Android device, go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, select [untitled], tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. Google says uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription, and that you keep access for the time you have already paid for.

Keep your own copies of tracks past the free limit

When the plan ends you drop to [starter], the free plan, whose tracks counter on the profile page runs to 25, and the cancel dialog confirms that unlimited tracks go away. [untitled] doesn't publish what happens to tracks above the free limit. Its terms say it has no obligation to store your content, and that moving to a lower plan may cause loss of content, features or capacity. Before the Expires on date, make sure you still have the original files for anything you can't afford to lose.

Don't rely on closing the account to stop the bill

The terms treat closing your account and cancelling as separate steps. If you close the account, the subscription still continues at the end of each period unless you cancel it the normal way. Account closure is a request: the privacy policy says to contact [untitled] at contact@untitled.stream. Cancel the subscription first, then ask for the account to be closed. The same applies if [untitled] removes your account over a copyright complaint. Check your Apple or Google Play subscriptions in that case, because those stores do the billing.

Not if you cancel before your renewal date. [untitled]'s terms say a subscription renews automatically until you cancel, and that after you cancel you can keep using it to the end of the current term with no further renewal. After you confirm, check that the Subscription window says Expires on rather than Renews on. App Store and Google Play plans have to be cancelled in the store before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel a store subscription (Google says so outright), so cancel it on the store's own Subscriptions page. If [untitled] changes its price, the terms say it will try to email you first, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

Don't count on one for a web subscription. The terms say you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any part of the period you already paid for, and that all fees are non-refundable except as the agreement sets out. Questions and complaints go to contact@untitled.stream. For an App Store charge, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com (I'd like to, then Request a refund). Apple decides, and its refund page says consumer-law rights in your country still apply. It still includes unlimited listening, share links to your music, and uploading from your desktop through the web app. It caps your library at 25 tracks, as the profile page's tracks counter showed. You also lose the premium editing suite (stem splitting, pitch and speed shifting, trimming and section looping) and the advanced controls, such as passwords on shareable links. [untitled] doesn't say what happens to tracks already above the free limit or to password-protected links. One Reddit user who asked was told the tracks "stay there", but the company hasn't confirmed it. Keep your own copies of the originals.

Cancel with the store that bills you, which [untitled]'s terms require for store purchases. iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, [untitled], Cancel Subscription, or sign in at account.apple.com on a computer. Referrals do exist: the iPhone app's release notes say you can give a friend a free month of [membership] and earn one when they subscribe. [untitled] doesn't say whether a referral month rolls into a paid plan. Open the Subscription window on your profile page. If it shows a Renews on date, treat that as a scheduled charge and cancel before it.
