A 10-step walkthrough with real screenshots from the live cancel flow.
Vivid has no separate cancel button for Plus or Prime — those are paid tariffs on top of a free Standard account, so you downgrade in the app. Open your profile → Plan, scroll to Vivid Standard, tap Get Standard, then push past Stay on Plus / Keep Plus and tap Confirm. It is app-only. You keep Plus or Prime until the date shown on the confirm screen, then drop to Standard for free (if you stay active). Closing your Vivid account entirely is a different, permanent process.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.
No bank login.
Wondering if you're paying more than you used to? the price you used to pay vs the price you pay now.
See Vivid's pricing, tiers, and difficulty score in one page. Vivid ranks #26 of 235 by cancellation difficulty.
Standard only includes up to three Money Pockets with their own IBANs (Plus allows six, Prime fifteen). Vivid's own help says to close unused pockets when you downgrade — leftover pockets above the Standard maximum can incur charges or get closed for you. Zero out and delete any pockets you will not need on Standard first.
In the Vivid app, open your profile and tap Plan. Your current tariff (Plus or Prime) shows as a card in a horizontal carousel. On Plus you will see Current plan under the benefits list, with the monthly fee and the next renewal date underneath.
Swipe the plan carousel until you land on Vivid Standard. Tap Get Standard (from Prime you can also stop at Plus with Get Plus if you only want the cheaper paid tier). There is no web account page that does this — Vivid documents the switch in the app only.
Vivid opens Are you sure you want to switch to Standard? and lists everything you lose: pocket count, personalised card, savings interest rate, cashback categories and limit, and free top-up / withdrawal allowances. The bright purple button is Stay on Plus. Tap the muted Switch to Standard underneath it.
Next comes a full-screen guilt trip: a teary mascot and the line It's sad to hear that you're not happy with your current tariff, asking you to reconsider. The filled button is Keep Plus. The path forward is the plain text link Switch to Standard under it — tap that.
A sheet headed Confirm your Vivid Standard plan shows when Plus (or Prime) ends and when Standard starts — typically your current renewal date, with Standard marked Free. Read the small print: if you keep Invest or Crypto pockets, those can still bill at paid-plan rates even after retail Standard. Tap Confirm.
Go back to profile → Plan. You should see Standard as current (or a pending switch to Standard on the date from the confirm sheet) and no upcoming Plus/Prime renewal. If Plus or Prime still shows an upcoming charge, the downgrade did not land — run the flow again before the renewal hits.
You can still downgrade from Plan at any time, but a partial refund is not automatic. Vivid tells you to contact Support via chat. Unused months are refunded at the full regular monthly price, not the discounted prepaid rate, and once more than half the current month has passed that month counts as fully used. Example from their help centre: a €29.40 six-month Plus bundle with one used month refunds €22.50 (€29.40 − €6.90).
Prime often starts with one free month. Vivid's help centre says to opt out of Prime in the app if you want Standard after the trial — same Plan → Get Standard path. Cancel before the trial end date shown in Plan or the paid €9.90/month fee starts.
Downgrading only ends the paid tariff. Your Standard account, cards, and balances stay open. Closing the relationship means zeroing every pocket, freezing and deleting cards, then deleting pockets (Stock Rewards cannot be deleted — zero it). After the Main / Money pocket is deleted, access ends immediately; a recent card payment can delay that delete by up to 45 days. Vivid states you cannot open a new account or reopen the old one afterwards.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
