Confirm where Ladder bills you

Check a recent bank or App Store receipt before you start. App Store purchases show Ladder under iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Website / Stripe charges appear on your card statement and cancel through Ladder's Account path (or support@joinladder.com). Deleting the Ladder app does nothing to billing.

Open Settings, then Account Details

In the Ladder app, open Settings and tap into Account Details. You'll see General (Current Membership status, days left in a trial if applicable), Membership Options (Restore Purchases, Need help? Contact Us), and a Dangerous Area section.

Tap Cancel Membership

Under Dangerous Area, tap Cancel Membership — not Delete Account. Delete Account permanently wipes workout history; Cancel Membership is the billing stop. On a paid Pro plan you should land on the Cancel Subscription sheet.

Tap OPEN FORM on the Cancel Subscription sheet

The Cancel Subscription sheet shows your CURRENT PLAN (for example PRO) and states that the subscription will be canceled but stays available until the end of your billing period (the date is printed on-screen). Under "To cancel your membership," step 1 tells you to fill out the form linked here. Tap the lime OPEN FORM button — that is the real cancel path. I UNDERSTAND alone does not submit a cancellation request.

Start the Typeform Customer Support Request

OPEN FORM launches Safari on form.typeform.com with Ladder's Customer Support Request Form. Read the FAQ link on the landing screen if you want, then tap Start and complete the form — make clear you are canceling your membership, and include the email on the Ladder account. Submit the form; do not assume the request is done until you hit the Typeform end screen.

Verify the cancel stuck

Watch for a Ladder support confirmation email and reopen Account Details — Current Membership should no longer look like an auto-renewing Pro once support processes the request. You keep Pro features until the access-until date printed on the Cancel Subscription sheet (end of the current term). Ladder's terms: no refund for unused time unless required by law.

If Apple bills you, cancel in Subscriptions too

Ladder's terms list Apple as an official cancel route for App Store purchases. Open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ladder → Cancel Subscription. This is often cleaner than waiting on Typeform for IAP-billed Pro. Finish Apple's confirm sheet — stopping at Ladder's OPEN FORM without canceling the App Store row can leave Apple renewing.

Canceling during a free trial

Ladder's public pricing offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. If you never started paid Pro, Account Details may show Trialing and Cancel Membership may only show the complimentary-trial copy plus I UNDERSTAND — Ladder's own Feb 2026 release notes say you are not charged during or after the trial unless you explicitly start a paid membership. If a card is already on file for a converting trial, finish OPEN FORM or Apple Cancel Free Trial / Cancel Subscription before the trial end date, and respect the three-day notice rule.

Terms also allow cancel by contacting support@joinladder.com. Use the email on the Ladder account, state that you want to cancel membership, and include your plan (monthly or annual) and approximate renewal date. Prefer this if Typeform fails to load, you are locked out of the app, or you need a paper trail for a disputed charge.

Do not Delete Account just to stop the bill

On the same Account Details screen, Delete Account warns that all workout history will be lost and cannot be recovered. Cancel Membership (or Apple Subscriptions) stops renewals and leaves your training log on the account if you rejoin later. Delete only if you also want the account erased — and cancel billing first so a store subscription cannot keep charging a deleted login.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not for a new term, once the cancel is confirmed through Ladder support (Typeform / email) and/or Apple Subscriptions for App Store billing. Ladder's Cancel Subscription sheet and Terms both say you keep access until the end of the current Membership Subscription Term. Terms also require canceling at least three days before the next term starts — cancel late and a renewal can still post. If Apple still shows Ladder as Active with Cancel Subscription available, you are still subscribed there.

Ladder's Terms say that unless required by applicable law, you are not entitled to a refund or credit for unused time, prepayments, or cancellation mid-term — refunds are at Ladder's sole discretion. For a charge you believe was improper, contact support@joinladder.com, or Apple if the purchase was through the App Store (reportaproblem.apple.com). Canceling alone is not an automatic prorated refund. EU/UK buyers may have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right on distance-sold digital subscriptions.

Canceling membership stops auto-renew; it is not the same as Delete Account. Community guidance is that rejoining with the same Apple ID keeps your data. You lose Pro coaching features when the paid period ends. Delete Account is a separate Dangerous Area action that Ladder warns will permanently erase workout history — do not use it as a cancel shortcut.

Cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ladder → Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial during a trial). Ladder's Terms explicitly allow canceling through Apple when applicable. You can still submit the in-app Typeform, but the App Store row is what stops Apple billing. Ladder's website Account Cancel Membership path will not remove an App Store subscription by itself.
