A 11-step walkthrough.
Sign in at amazon.com → Memberships & Subscriptions, find Prime Video, select Manage Subscription, then Cancel Subscription and confirm. Prime Video Ultra (the ad-free add-on) and any channels you added through Prime Video bill separately, so cancel each of those too. If nothing has been watched on your account since the last charge, Amazon's terms give you a full refund. If you pay for full Amazon Prime instead, Prime Video comes with it and you need the Amazon Prime cancellation guide.
The next renewal is the one you won't. RecurDash keeps the list and emails you before each charge lands.

Prime Video runs on your Amazon login, so open amazon.com in a web browser and sign in with the account that's being charged. If you have more than one Amazon account (an old email address, a work login, a partner's account on the TV), make sure you're in the one that holds the membership. Amazon's help page for canceling Prime Video sends you to the website; it doesn't document a cancel option for the membership inside the Prime Video app.
Go to amazon.com/hz5/yourmembershipsandsubscriptions, or open the Account & Lists menu and choose Memberships & Subscriptions. The page lists your active, canceled and expired subscriptions with each one's renewal date and price, including Prime and Prime Video.
Find the Prime Video membership in the list and select Manage Subscription. If the list shows Amazon Prime and no separate Prime Video entry, you're a Prime member, and Prime Video can't be canceled on its own. See the Amazon Prime step below.
Amazon's help puts the cancel control under Advanced Controls, labeled Cancel Subscription. Select it and follow the prompts through to Amazon's confirmation. If the option isn't there, Amazon's membership fee page names Manage Prime Membership (amazon.com/gp/primecentral) as the place to cancel "any of your Amazon Prime memberships", and the same page lists the Prime Video membership price. Afterwards, reload Memberships & Subscriptions, check that Prime Video now shows as canceled rather than active, and keep any confirmation email. Amazon's help doesn't say in writing whether the video-only membership keeps streaming until the paid month runs out, so go by the date the confirmation shows.
Four different Amazon charges can look like "Prime Video", and each one cancels separately: the standalone Prime Video membership ($8.99 a month in the US), full Amazon Prime (which includes Prime Video and can't be split from it), Prime Video Ultra (the ad-free add-on), and channels such as Paramount+ or HBO Max bought inside Prime Video. If the amount on your statement isn't the membership price, it's probably Prime or an add-on rather than the membership. Memberships & Subscriptions lists every one of them with its price and renewal date, so check there before you assume which is which.
Amazon's Prime Video terms give two routes to a full refund on a video-only membership. Cancel within 3 business days of signing up, or of a free trial converting to paid, and Amazon refunds the fee, though it may deduct the value of anything watched in that window. At any other time, you get the full fee back only if nothing included with the membership has been watched on your account since the last charge. The terms test whether content was "accessed through your account", not whether you personally watched it, so someone else streaming on your login counts. If you're canceling right after a renewal you didn't want, don't press play first.
Prime Video is included in Amazon Prime ($14.99 a month or $139 a year in the US), so a Prime member can't drop only the video part. Ending Prime ends Prime Video with it, and the Amazon Prime cancellation guide on this site covers that flow. If you find you're paying for Prime and a standalone Prime Video membership at the same time, cancel the standalone one: Prime already gives you the same Prime Video.
Ultra is a separate subscription ($4.99 a month in the US) with its own cancel button. On the web, open Prime Video Settings, then Your Account (amazon.com/gp/video/settings/your-account), select Cancel Ultra and confirm. In the app on Fire TV, smart TVs, game consoles and set-top boxes, go to Settings, then Prime, then Cancel Ultra. On Android, iOS and Fire tablets, go to Settings, then Prime & Subscriptions, then Cancel Ultra. Ads come back once the current billing cycle ends.
Channels such as Paramount+, HBO Max or Apple TV bought inside Prime Video are add-on subscriptions billed on top of the membership. Go to Manage Your Subscriptions (amazon.com/myac), select Subscriptions from the top menu, find the channel, then select Unsubscribe and confirm. If Amazon offers you a self-service refund and you accept it, the channel ends immediately. Otherwise it runs to the end date on the confirmation screen, and you can reverse the cancellation until then.
Amazon can't cancel a subscription someone else bills. If Apple bills your Prime Video subscription, cancel it on iPhone in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Amazon's help says Apple-billed Ultra and channel subscriptions must be canceled at least 24 hours before they renew, or you may be charged again. If Prime Video came with a mobile or broadband plan, Amazon says billing, subscription and cancellation questions go to that provider.
Check your statement around the date the membership would have renewed. Amazon's help and forum answers point to three usual sources of a charge that survives a cancellation: Ultra or a channel billing on its own, a subscription on another Amazon account that uses your card, or a membership billed through Apple or your phone carrier (see the steps above). If the subscription isn't listed anywhere in your account, an Amazon staff member answering exactly that on the Amazon forum said the charge may come from a different Amazon account that has your card on file, and that customer service has to trace it for you. Removing your card from Amazon doesn't cancel anything: the terms let Amazon charge any payment method it has on file if the main one fails, and one Reddit user found charges kept coming on a replacement card.
RecurDash keeps track of what you're paying for and emails you before each renewal — so the next cancellation happens on your schedule, not after the charge. No bank login required.
